I got the great book "The Art of He-man" this past Summer (released Spring 2015), and there was a nice section in there on the '87 MOTU film. Most of the pre-production art featured in the book were done over a brief period by concept designers Ralph McQuarrie (STAR WARS) and Claudio Mazzoli around 1984, when the movie was still in early development (and before being financed and greenlit), much before William Stout stepped up (with some help of the late renown French artist Moebius on the He-Man & Skeletor costumes) to replace the initially hired production designer (Geoffrey Kirkland from THE RIGHT STUFF, CAPTAIN EO and BIRDY).

The library scene was based on an earlier script draft where Julie was being chased inside the school campus.
