Ever notice the "spiders" have the same walk cycle as the tri-pods in War of the Worlds?

I'll give it a shot because I LOVE the movie and am always game for new sci-fi shows, but knowing Fox, it will be cancelled before the first season is done. Genre shows rarely make it on network stations. Honestly, I would rather just have Almost Human back. Still, I'm hoping for the best.

Yes, it's same man behind the camera.

It's more that the designs are similar rather than the walk. Both have three jointless legs, which forces a particular walk. However, the spiders are far more nimble and quick because they are small, so it's not the same walk. As an animator I can tell you that they didn't use walks cycles for either, because that would have looked terrible in this instance. They animated every step individually rather than using pre-animated cycles.

I'm definitely interested. Fox can be a good home for sci fi (see Fringe). But also a bad place too (see Terra Nova and Almost Human). As long as it gets ok ratings and can be profitable for them it should have a good shot at succeeding there.

I'm still ticked that Fox dumped Space: Above and Beyond nearly 20 years ago. That was probably the best sci-fi series I have ever seen on TV after Star Trek, and Star Trek: TNG.

Since it was Fox, I hope you guys are talking about the Karl Urban series (if so ... ) - and not that frickin' weird zombie/slasher thing.

Yeah the Karl Urban show. It wasn't the best but it was fun to watch and looked like it was going to head in some cool directions if it continued.

I think a prequel series makes more sense. The end of Minority Report kind of killed hopes of a sequel didn't it?
