I'll be reading reviews before I buy But there are a lot of films I have held off buying because they deserve better treatment before they will get my money. such as Star Wars: Original Trilogy, T.O. Star Trek films. T2. Spartacus, Dragonheart, IF they don't get released or they don't get a good upgrade I will live without them.

I found a good list

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_70_mm_films

Anything on this list would be a sure thing.

I'm really hoping for a 4K release of "Ernest Scared Stupid." I can only imagine how awesome it would be with a proper 4K master!

That would be a good thing my sons and I loved Ernest and Scared Stupid was one of his better ones. I dont have high hopes of any of his movies getting the UHD treatment but I would be all in.

Starman. The blu-ray is really good, but I can only imagine how good 4K would make it look. I want to see those reds pop even more with an expanded color space, especially the final sequence.

I think he was joking, or at least I hope so.

I own some on DVD some on bluray and some on 4k. I don't buy duplicates. Most people buy this way. Then I have money left for ps4 games, see.

Star Wars Ep 7
Jurassic World

Star Wars yes, but JW is crippled by a 2K DI, 4K would be a waste.

If I adopt UHD BD, which is very likely unless they implement some always online DRM nonsense, then I will buy all new releases I am interested in on UHD.

I will probably also buy some backlog titles of movies I love, like the old Terminator movies which I still only have on DVD. That would make for a lovely upgrade for those titles, assuming they do not screw up the UHD release somehow.

With 417 movies and counting I simply can't afford to upgrade everything. Plus not everything will be offered in 4k bluray (not everything is offered in 1080p bluray).

So I will have to pick and choose very well. I know most say they will pick their favorites and some of my favs will need new tech to be even watchable e.g. "Predator".

My big question is witch movies do you feel NEED 4k, hdr, 10bit color and so on the MOST.

There is a group of movies I have owned no matter what the format of the day is, so I'll buy them again in 4K:

BLADE RUNNER
INDIANA JONES
STAR WARS SAGA
CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE 3RD KIND
ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK
ALIEN/ALIENS
THE MATRIX
TERMINATOR/TERMINATOR 2
UNIVERSAL MONSTERS

EDIT: forgot STAR TREK TOS and movies!!(How could I?) and also THE TWILIGHT ZONE original series.

Any film released to the UHD Blu-ray format is going to need all 3 things mentioned above to give it the very best presentation possible. If not, then there's no point of even investing jn the new format!!! 4K blu-ray either needs to be taken seriously or just scrap it altogether! No half-assed, half-hearted releases this time around!!
