Ive had this set for awhile now and I just realized that during very light or dark pictures, more the transition from light to dark, in widescreen letterbox it looks like a thin bar of light is on the black bars?? Its like the black bar is a little illuminated. I attached a picture if my description is not clear. Is this normal for plasma sets or should I get it checked out??

The thing is it only happens when I watch a movie...I have had on full screen hd for the past hour and the lines are already gone. Im just wondering what is causing it and why it happens only on blu rays with that aspect ratio?? They always disappear when I have on full screen shows.

if that's the case then I wouldn't worry about it. I have a samsung pn60e6500 which is very resistant to IR and I even notice it every now and then. You only need to worry about it if it doesn't go away like you're saying it does. As for what's causing it I believe (no expert so don't hold me to it) what's causing it is just those specific pixels in the black bars not changing color or contrast. |
