Polk Audio DSW-PRO 550 Vs Earthqauke FF12 Sub

Hi

I am looking to upgrade my subwoofers, am caught up between these two. The FF12 is slightly cheaper than the 550, but i like both. Am confused, but would like an opinion to sway me in either direction.....

Neither of those is all that good, to be honest. You could probably do better. What's your budget and how large is your room (HWD)? There may be other alternatives.

Thanks for the feedback, my room is medium sized (4m by 4m), i want something punchy. Budget is between $200 and $300.

Those websites list the price with an 'R' and a number, but I'm not certain how that relates to US dollars. However, looking at your previous selections I'll assume somewhere around the 4,000-5,000 'R' range is accurate.

Given that, it seems your choices are quite limited. You might want to check into the Cambridge Audio X300 and the Velodyne Impact 10, but beyond that I don't see much else. I'd definitely stay away from Earthquake though, because they're a pretty lousy company.

I think i will hold off on the Subwoofers until i can afford something better. I was looking at the Earthquake FF12, but will hold off on it.
