Did anyone else have a hard time finding this? Wasn't at Best Buy or Target. I found it at Barnes and Noble for $27.99, that's the only store in town that had it.

I ordered from amazon, but I also did not see it anywhere in town. I preordered for $19.32 on it!

I got this awhile ago from Germany before a US edition was announced. I'm glad I did because it has DTS-HD MA 5.1 sound. Also, it is region free although some of the extras do not play on my Region A Sony player (but I have a region free Oppo).

'Driving Miss Daisy' arrived yesterday from Amazon and my wife and I watched it last night. The video quality benefits nicely from Blu-ray and grain (which is abundant) is left unmolested. This is NOT some ultra-sharp blockbuster SciFi release so anyone expecting such might be disappointed. The DTS HD MA audio track is a nice improvement over the DVD but, as a reminder, it's only a 2.0 track. Still, Hans Zimmer's delightful musical score sounds better than ever!

Very glad to have it in my collection on Blu!

The US version is DTS HD MA 2.0. Are you certain the German one is 5.1?

Yes. Both of my BD players and my receiver confirm it.

I thought the AQ was outstanding (but I had it on VHS) I could actually hear what he mumbles to her

And yes Hans Zimmers score is fantastic!!

Great film and really good doc on the original story of the play / screenplay

Default BD-25? seriously?

They went to the trouble of making a Digibook to justify "premium" pricing, but they shipped a BD-25? This must be a mistake in the review.

I guess I could understand it if there were no extras at all; the bit budget wouldn't be as constrained. That's not the case here, though.

Can anyone verify if it's a BD-25 and what the average video bit rate is?

It wouldn't look any better than it does already if it was on a BD50. If the transfer sucked I could understand your outrage. But it doesn't suck so I don't.

It isn't. It's also not the first time a digibook has contained a BD-25.

I ordered from Walmart.com and got mine yesterday. Every BP winner should be released in a classy digibook.
Welcome to blu-ray.com, where slipcovers are more important than Blu-rays.
