Ugh, I think i'm just gonna say screw it and order this off amazon with the Viva Metalpak. My ocd will forgive the missing slip if I have a metal case.

Went to another Best Buy further away today. Still no luck with the slipcover for the blue cover. Yet the gold one again had one. Looks like it's the secondary market.

Try getting it directly from Disney. There's a thread about replacements in the 'Slipcover' sub-forum.

(Peter Pan, released after Cinderella, is returning to the Vault in 2014 although DMC has extended it to May 31.)

Though there's no official announcement as to why, conventional wisdom suggests its Vault return has been delayed till 2015 or more likely 2016 to coincide with Kenneth Branagh's live-action remake (set to hit theaters March 13, 2015) starring Lily James as "Ella", Cate Blanchett as Lady Tremaine, and Helena Bonham Carter as the Fairy Godmother. (That is consistent with the slightly-early return of Sleeping Beauty in fall 2014, probably to coincide with the video release of Maleficent.)

Guess I got extra lucky. I went over to Meijer today and they had 2 Diamond Edition Blu-ray case slipcover releases left, had to pick one up for myself.

They also had a few copies of the Blu-ray in DVD case without slip.

Lucky on the slips, but not the movie; it never went back to the Vault last year, and apparently nothing is going back this year.

I went over to Best Buy and Target and could only find the DVD version for the past few weeks. Got into the Disney Blu-ray collecting a little late unfortunately, that's why.

So, nothing at all is going back in?
I heard rumors about Jungle Book, Little Mermaid and Cinderella. Cinderella seems unlikely to me due to the live movie releasing this week, but this is the third year it will be out I believe. Jungle Book seems a little too soon. Little Mermaid seems possible though.

All three are old enough per recent Vault guidelines, but a live-action Jungle Book is also in the pipeline. If any of the titles subject to Vault rules were going back this spring (April 30), Disney Movie Club (DMC) would have been covered with ads to buy the "Disappearing Classics" for months; but there's been NO such ads at DMC this winter.

There's two possibilities here: Though The Little Mermaid sounds like the perfect Vault candidate, they may be wary of what happened to Peter Pan (and Return to Never Land) last year: With no other DAC accompanying it (thanks to Cinderella's reprieve), Peter Pan's sales were so slow that they actually had to delay its Vault date a month (to May 31) to give retailers enough time to clear out their stock. With the live-action Cinderella & TJB holding the others up, perhaps they didn't want TLM to suffer the same fate. It's possible they're delaying the Vault till later in the year, or even till next year, after the live-action Cinderella hits video so they can give the original (and TLM) a proper send-off.

The more likely option IMO, however, is being hinted at by what's happening in Europe: Perhaps Disney is about to abandon the Vault as we know it (i.e., 7-10 years between short-term releases of the biggest catalog DACs from Walt's lifetime and the heyday of the Disney Renaissance), though I'm sure standard video moratoriums (commonly 1-2 years before a new version) will continue under the "Vault" brand. Disney has already abandoned the Vault in most European countries; all 15 DACs subject to Vault rules in the U.S. are currently available in the UK (and are part of the current BOGOF sales there). And the Vault not only seems to enrich eBay sellers at Disney's expense, but it also complicates Disney's streaming strategy (i.e., Disney Movies Anywhere), release dates for live-action remakes (Beauty and the Beast is also on the way with Emma Watson as Belle), and possibly even the transition to UHDBD. IF they're gonna abandon the Vault, however, don't expect an announcement till closer to to one of the next three Vault release windows: October 2015 (Aladdin, the last Vault title and possibly last DAC to hit U.S. BD), February 2016 (likely Pinocchio as the final Diamond Edition), or October 2016 (time for Snow White to launch Diamond's successor per normal Vault rules).
