I bought mine about a year ago, and just opened it to check out the graphic novel and the entire left side of the box fell apart. What the hell? I'm sure Amazon can't do anything now considering it was purchased 12 months ago but wow what a let down for such a cool box.

Most of the boxes are damaged. It's not just an Amazon thing. Mine has splits at all 4 corners.

Mine is still immaculate and stays on permanent display because of that really nice lenticular on the front.

I'm frightened to open mine! It's immaculate on the outside, which I guess is the main thing.

Yeah that was the case of mine. I hadn't opened it until the other day and the God damn box fell apart.

You can't enjoy the movie or the graphic novel if they are locked away under shrinkwrap. Cross your fingers, hope for the best and take the plunge! At worst your box will fall apart, but you can still take the contents out and re-wrap the box to make it look new again.

I thought I had a perfect box too, but one corner is ripped. You only notice when you open it though, sitting back on the shelf (and not re-wrapped) it looks mint.

Default Side note

everyone on the forum has probably heard this, but HBO is considering making a Watchmen series. Will it happen? Who knows, and will it be solely based on the original graphic novel, the "Before Watchmen" run or a combination of the two. And are they thinking about tying it into the movie? Despite not knowing, I'm excited for this, fan of the movie and of the comic (haven't read the before watchmen)

Just what the world needs...a tv redo of a 6 year old movie. Plus, if the Before Watchman story is a part of this, then a big hell no. Those comics were awful. The movie worked. Leave it alone.

also we don't know if this will be a full remake or somehow tie into the movie (maybe following the minutemen?), all we know is hbo talked to snyder, but i think they're owned by time warner so this might just tip hbo into developing this.

sidenote: this also may rely on how well BvS is received; if received well this will most definitely get picked up, but if the ball is dropped hbo might either completely shelve the show or just temporarily.

I received mine yesterday, slightly broken box, but no dings, and Warner swapped out the theatrical dvd with disc art for a dvd w/o artwork like in the unboxing video above. I have the theatrical cut dvd w disc art already, but that really irritates me when Warner does that, like they did with the Terminator set.

Why? It's disc art on a disc you are probably never going to watch. Why get irritated at something so pointless?

i think you will be very hard pressed to find a 100% mint box that's not got slight rip damage on the internal corners (on the seems) not crush damage by the way.....all due to the that very heavy book inside moving around and forcing the seems apart on the box-set.

i went through three 4 years ago when Amazon Canada had a similar price .... 1 picked the best of the three

its a downside to owning this particular set unfortuantly so if you did get a 100% mint no corners tear's then your in a very select club but then you have to open the actual seal to find out

I got one that was 100% mint, no word of a lie. No splits, dents or rips inside or out, it's perfect.
