But it wouldn't surprise me if David Lynch was also involved in the packaging type. Twin Peaks was also a digipak type packaging, and there are getting to be quite a few David Lynch digipaks/books if you count releases from all over the world:

Twin Peaks
Eraserhead
Blue Velvet
Mulholland Drive
The Elephant Man
Lost Highway
They're doing Eraserhead in a digipack?

...are you freaking serious?

I was really hoping for the normal Criterion case.

I checked out the Lime Green Set from my university library. Can't wait to dig through it all! (I'm going to wait to watch the stuff ported over to the Criterion edition of Eraserhead until I receive my copy).
Films and movies are two different things.

I regret never picking that up, but now that it seems they are all getting blu ray releases I am somewhat glad I didn't (somewhat being the key word). Though I would love to see all those deleted scenes from Wild at Heart. I don't think all of them have popped up online yet.

Maybe all of his films will get the Criterion treatment....though I doubt it.

It is a sweet set. Hopefully those deleted scenes are released again, as well as Industrial Symphony No. 1 (I have that on laserdisc).

Man I can't wait to get this one on bluray... Eraserhead is the only lynch movie I could watch over and over and connect with and explain in my head. With his other movies like Mulholland drive I kind of feel like it's all about some hollywood experience that I can't relate to.

I still remember watching Eraserhead on VHS tape after seeing it mentioned in a gaming magazine article, recommending movies similar to the original Silent Hill on ps1.

This could have been an awesome easter egg for the disc.

I ::ahem:: "found" the Lime Green Mystery Disc (deleted scenes etc.) online a few years ago. You can still buy the set new on Amazon FYI, or used for less than $100. But yea it seems likely that some day a Blu of Wild at Heart will come out with all the scenes.

I liked the Wild at Heart scenes better than the film itself. The prize for me though on that disc is a re-edit of Lynch's 2002 web-series "Rabbits". Originally 8 or 9 short episodes, it's now edited to 4 longer episodes (only one segment is absent probably due to a rights issue with the singer).

Rabbits is one of my favorite things ever; scared me more than anything ever had and made me sleep with the light on for weeks (and then every once in a while for years after that), as an adult. I was literally sick to my stomach with fear when I first started watching it. And for most of it, nothing overtly "scary" even happens.

The re-edit was probably an improvement; hopefully he'll throw it onto one of the Blu-Ray releases eventually (maybe Inland Empire?).

Edit: A review of the Mystery Disc, with what may be some very helpful "links" at the bottom:
