Korean Actress Confirmed for 'Substantial Supporting' Role In AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON

The identity of her character is supposedly a spoiler, but Korean actress Kim Soo Hyun has officially joined the ensemble cast of Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron in a "substantial" role. Check it out!

By DCMarvelFreshman - 3/6/2014

While the latest Avengers: Age of Ultron buzz surrounds Scarlett Johansson's pregnancy and the effect it might have on the production, a new starlet has been confirmed to join the cast. Korean actress Kim Soo Hyun (Claudia Kim) has been rumored for some time, but she and Disney Korea reps made things official this week. “After a long wait, I’m happy to be back with great news,” started Kim Soo Hyun in a Twitter post yesterday. “I have a lot to do ahead of me, but for now, the words ‘Welcome to the Marvel Universe’ are amazing and kind of overwhelming. I was a fan of Marvel Comics, and if you really like something, looks like fate can make it happen.”

In typical Marvel fashion, the character that Kim Soo Hyun is playing in Age of Ultron is being kept under wraps. “It would be a spoiler, so we can’t tell you which character she will play,” said a supposed film rep to Osen (via DramaFever). “Marvel always prohibits telling too much about the story. Her character is already decided and the scene is already written so we cast Kim Soo Hyun, but we can’t let you know about her character. We only can say that her character is a substsantial supporting role,” the rep added. Past rumors had claimed Kim Soo Hyun was playing a doctor to Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark with ties to Ultron. Before she takes part in the South Korea filming next month, the actress will attend next week's Captain America: The Winter Soldier LA premiere.

Other tidbits on The Avengers: Age of Ultron - Elizabeth Olsen attended the Miu Miu fashion show yesterday in Paris where she reaffirmed to Women's Wear Daily that principal photography on the Marvel sequel is right around the corner. Speaking about her role as the Scarlet Witch, Olsen stated “she has mind-control powers and she’s one of the most bad-ass characters; It’s really cool.” Meanwhile, it seems Hawkeye actor Jeremy Renner will take part in scenes shot on-location in Italy later this month, if Twitter is to believe. Finally, in case you're not up to speed on how Scarlett Johansson's bun in the oven could impact filming, it's been reported that her Black Widow scenes will be “fast-tracked” on account of the actress being now five months along and due in August. Chiming in on the matter Tuesday, notorious Marvel movie scooper Elmayimbe of Latino Review took to Twitter to tease: “I wonder how Avengers: Age of Ultron will handle Black Widow being pregnant since in the script she is dating ************ ” What do you think?

I think they meant "99% of the time he's full of sh!t that turns out to be completely wrong" scooper Elmayimbe of Latino Review. That site is the National Enquirer of movie websites.

he's making random guesses based on previous comic book storylines and the fact that she's in the Cap movie. And on the chance they follow the comic, he'll proclaim, "See?!! I was right!"

That's what I'm thinking. Especially since the Ultimate Marvel version of Wasp was Asian.

Not familiar with her (looks like she has a number of popular TV credits) but I'm game for it.

No chance they are not introducing that character in Avengers 2.

Ant-Man is their riskiest venture and no way are they having her debut in another franchise.
They have to maximize the number of reasons people will be hyped for a lesser character like Ant-Man.

But how else would they bridge Ant-Man to the Avengers, especially since Ultron is getting different origins?

Scarlett really should have thought about her Black Widow fans and this movie before she decided to get pregnant. How selfish!

Chris Hemsworth Says Everything is 'Ramped Up' in Avengers: Age of Ultron

With some shooting already taking place, Marvel's next big film Avengers: Age of Ultron will begin its principal photography in the coming weeks and fans are eager as ever to learn more about the upcoming sequel. Speaking at Wizard World Sacramento (via CBM), Thor himself Chris Hemsworth was asked if he would be getting more scenes as the god of thunder in the film, and he had some high praise for the sequel.

Quote:
"Everything in Avengers is ramped up though. It kind of blew me away reading it. I don't know how Joss does it, but everyone has just gone up another notch and the whole thing is bigger and more insane and crazy. Yeah, he's a genius."
Hemsworth also confirmed that the majority of shooting for the film will take place in London and last for four months. You can watch the full video with Hemsworth in the player below.

Also starring Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson, Thomas Kretschmann, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen and James Spader, the Joss Whedon-directed film will hit theaters on May 1, 2015.

She is a super hero. So I don't get that comment at all.
Bat-Mite: "Batman's rich history allows him to be interpreted in a multitude of ways. To be sure, this is a lighter incarnation, but is certainly no less valid and true to the character's roots then the tortured avenger, crying out for mommy and daddy."

Well she's knocked-up, now, so her front story says, S.Y.A.D.S.!

Just finished watching Assembling a Universe special on ABC, and they showed concept art for Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver in costume. They also showed some of the filming for that Johannesburg sequence with Hulk and flashed some concept art from the scene:

Someone should make a MCU thread where we can discuss all the movies lol . I heard they may be making more movies like 3 or 4 a year and are considering Ms Marvel and Planet Hulk . That Hulkbuster armor looked huge .
