I loved Les Miserables, and plan to get it on blu-ray. But his "Honest" trailer is funny imho:

I wanted to like the "Honest Trailer," but the maker of that seemed to fundamentally misunderstand all the key parts of the story -- many of the "funny" observations just aren't accurate at all.

Which can be a criticism of the movie -- that it wasn't clear enough for this guy to understand what was happening -- but it stops it short of being funny.

I thought it was funny, but yeah they didn't understand the movie. Or they pretended not to understand to make it humorous.

Check out this LOTR "honest" trailer, which "Honestly" misinterprets the Eye of Sauron into something....er....else...

The company that makes these videos basically goes to the IMDB boards, list off everything people are complaining about, and then make a "funny" video about it. Most of them truely suck and are childish (accept for this one, in which the singing part is wonderful, and Titanic, which had me on the floor laughing.) Overall, they are usually a hit or a miss most of the time.
"Funny how sometimes you just find things" - How I Met Your Mother [2005 - 2014]

Favorites Of 2013: The Great Gatsby, The Wolf Of Wall Street, Inside Llewyn Davis, Philomena, Disney's Frozen, Prisoners, Her, and Gravity.
Honorable Mention: Jurassic Park 3D

That trailer shows how difficult comedy can be. The only time I laughed was when they were showing the cast and called Anne Hathaway Susan Boyle.

Crazy about Les Misérables?

Last edited by kimkarlsson; 05-23-2013 at 04:54 AM. Reason: I forgot to include the 2-disc deluxe version of the soundtrack in the first picture

Where did you learn about the company? Those videos kind of annoy me, and I'd like to post that thing about IMDB, but I don't want to create false rumors. Were you serious, or were you just joking about what it seems like they do?

That my opinion. I don't actually know for certain what they do, but it seems like they to that.

I'm totally loving that the artwork of my Sunshine Blu-ray is faded from direct sunlight.

Would you mind posting some pics of the packaging of the deluxe soundtrack?

Just watched it yesterday after getting it for 7.99 on Black Friday. I loved it! My fiance enjoyed it as well, but I think she started getting bored with it. I definitely think Russell Crowe's singing was a little more boring, but heck he did what most actors couldn't!

A very well deserved spot in my collection.

Russell Crowe's singing grows on me in this movie -- it's real, instead of sounding like a Broadway stage actor, he almost sounds like a no-nonsense officer of the law singing his lines.

I have the soundtrack selection, and some of his numbers ended up being my favorites ("Stars," and his lines in the ensemble "One Day More" end up being some of the best).

That's a very good point about his singing it's more "matter of fact."

I am starting to introduce my fiance into musicals, we've watched Newsies and today we'll probably watch Fiddler on the Roof. It's a side of cinema that unfortunately a lot of people never watch.

Lost it at "Fat Maximus".

Russell Crowe had me cringing the whole 2+ hours.
