Default Onkyo TX-NR 509 for $141.95 @ Amazon

I don't know how much lower it can get than this, folks.

5.1 AV receiver, 80W per channel.

Link.

I don't have have direct experience with this model (yet, but I just placed an order for one), but I've had the 803 and currently have the 809 and 3009 and have been happy with those.

I picked one up for a secondary set up that I've been meaning to get a relatively inexpensive AVR for, and at this price it seemed like a steal to me.

I believe this is the lowest price it's been on Amazon. (I'd try to PM this at BB for RZ points or J&R to avoid tax, but neither have this in stock as it is last year's discontinued model that for some reason Amazon still has inventory of).

In related news, the Onkyo TX-NR414 (which I believe is the current version of the 509) is on sale for $232.11. It has 6 HDMI inputs vs. 4 for the 509.
For Trade:
Have: 6 x $8 FF6 Fandango vouchers, 5 x $12 General Mills movie vouchers (any movie), 1 x $12 Monsters University movie voucher.

Want: Any of the following (or some combo) for each $10 code (half for the FF6 codes)
(A) 2 iTunes DC's, or (B) 2 slips, or (C) $5 GC, or (D) 1 inexpensive blu (<$10 type), or (E) DMR codes or ticket stubs, or (F) other types of unique codes, or (G) open to other suggestions. . . . . . . . Please see my WTT thread for details.

Hmm, for some reason, it removed Amazon as the seller on the main product page and it says that there are "4 new from $289.99.

But, if you click on the "4 new" Amazon stills shows as the first seller for the $141.95 price.

Edit: Rats, nevermind, it looks like the deal is already dead. Not surprised considering the price. Sorry, I should have posted this earlier, I had a CCC alert when I woke up this morning.

All gone, either purchased or relisted at a higher price by Amazon Warehouse. Good deal while it lasted, thanks for pointing it out!

For the most part, this receiver has been a good AVR. In the beginning, however, I would get sparkly effects that would appear when you turn on the onscreen display. I changed the HDMI cord and that has never reappeared. But I do still get rare instances of audio dropouts. Happen a lot before the HDMI cord swap and very rare after.

''Bad'' HDMI cord = Monoprice
Replacemeent HDMI cord = GE

Heard people say ONKYO are known to have HDMI issues. I only paid 250 like 1.5 years ago. Thats cheap compared to some true midrange ones that cost around 500-600. But still...I would probably try a Denon next time.

Just sharing my experience. Otherwise this AVR has been performing like a champ. I am very happy with the sound. Too bad I live in a apartment or else I would really try to test it out.
