To be honest, I didn't notice a significant change to Jaws. Are the colours more vivid?

Thanks, I am just contemplating buying the current digibook and going with that one if the new release is not going to include the theatrical cut (my preferred version)
Why do studios continue to re-release films on BD when so many catalog titles still are not released?
Wants on BD: La Dolce Vita and La Strada (Criterion), Somewhere in Time, Time After Time, Hooper, King Kong (1976), Urban Cowboy, Murder By Death and The Burbs |

The previous poster was discussing revisionism by directors, specifically related to colour changes, and wondered what I thought about what had been done to Jaws. I didn't notice any shift in the colours, particularly. He said he missed Jaws' previous "hazy" look as opposed to the crystal clarity of the blu-ray. |

Wow this looks great. I love it when old classics look amazing. How much room for 'improvement is there? Ill just be keeping the digibook regardless.

The colour timing on the Jaws Blu-Ray isn't that different from previous editions, the only difference is that the colours are better balanced and less washed out. It still has a 1970's 35mm theatrical colour palette. If you want a good example of a drastically changed colour palette, look at the Top Gun 3D transfer. Everything's teal and orange on that transfer.
