That reminds me of when that movie first came out. I read about how several people were disgusted by the rats running all over the kitchen, and I swore up and down that "It's a cartoon, people! How can that be so bad?!" Then, when I actually saw the scene they were talking about, I actually did feel a little sick! I think it was the way they made sure to make the rats look like sewer rats in a real kitchen. I couldn't believe that I found myself agreeing with them!

Ooh! Another scene that disturbed me was in "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" remake. It was when Leatherface cut off a guy's leg with his chainsaw as he was running through some hanging sheets, then he hung him on a meat hook and smacked salt on his stump. I looked over at The Wife and saw her eyes wide and mouth open, and decided to stop it. I knew this was too much for her (Hell, it was a bit much for me), I pushed eject on the player and gave the disc back to my sister. To my chagrin, The Wife went with her in order to finish it. Which meant she kept me up late, as we lay in bed, describing every disturbing scene because she couldn't sleep with the images in her head. (Oh, how I love that woman!)
"I can't live the buttoned down life like all of you! I want it all: the terrifying lows, the dizzying highs, the creamy middles! Sure, I might offend a few of the blue-noses with my cocky stride and musky odor - oh, I'll never be the darling of the so-called 'City Fathers' who cluck their tongues, stroke their beards, and talk about what's to be done with this Monkey_Boy?!"

A good resource:

http://thelastexit.net/cinema/special.html

That whole website is actually great, but that page in particular will lead to the most extreme ones.

-John Charbonneau
"When Marlon [Brando] dies, everybody moves up one." -Jack Nicholson
"When Marlon Brando dies, everybody moves up one, except for Malcolm McDowell." -Jean-Baptiste Charbonneau
Strongly overrepresented: Erotic, Film-Noir, Foreign, Surreal
Top 13 Actors: Malcolm McDowell. Marlon Brando. Spencer Tracy. Jean-Paul Belmondo. Michael Douglas. Laurence Olivier. Al Pacino. Alain Delon. Max von Sydow. Willliam Holden. John Saxon. Douglas Fairbanks. Adolfo Celi.
I will no longer update my collections.
