Thanks for the screen grabs.

Where is the grain!? I am going to keep hold of my Italian release.

No problem!

To be honest I am disappointed in this release, I expected better for something that is supposed to be 4K remastered. No grain in sight, I take it the Italian version has grain?

Pretty much the same as the previous JP release:

Although the IT release only features the stereo mix, but it is LPCM and does sound great.

Is it me or does this not look like it's had a similar kind of noise reduction as the recent 6K Universal American Werewolf in London release? Much heavier on this film though, the grain is almost completely gone!

This is why I don't buy anything "remastered" until I see reviews/screencaps first. A newer release isn't always a better release.

Wow, what a shame that this is giving the Predator UHE a run for its money for being the single worst DNR hack job in blu-ray history.

That new Werewolf in London remaster is a friggin' grain haven compared to this financial nightmare of a "4K Remaster".

The only issue with the old Bluray and even the DVD for that matter is the cropping is wrong in many shots (up too high)

If this had retained the grain I would of bought it, as I agree that the framing is better than the previous JP release and the Italian release. I also prefer the richer colour, but this should of had a beautiful layer of fine grain.

I wonder who did the remaster back in 2001. There has to be a reason for the framing discrepancies.

I agree 100%. The lack of grain (even moreso than the us bluray) is a huge letdown

So I take it that the original JP version is still the best? If so I'm reading that the Italian version is basically the same. So I gather it has the same film grain and framing as the original JP version? How about the audio? Is there much difference in the stereo vs TrueHD?

It's cheaper to import so if Italian is very close then I'll just grab that.

The original JP disc is out of print, so you're not finding that on the cheap.

Hell, no. It's the US master with DNR slapped on it.

You work away, there.

How do you make a shit transfer look even worse? Ask the Japanese:
