The Black Cat is a strong one.

Oh, I'd LOVE to see a Lugosi/Karloff deluxe box set, too. Is that too much to ask, Universal? Those two did a few great movies together. *+*

Second Sight released the DVD of this in 2007, so maybe they might do a Blu-ray of this. This is all dependent on who has the rights now. I have the DVD, but I haven't watched it for a while

Depends, are you in the UK or abroad? This would be a bit long for a UK order, but an order to North America etc. 2 weeks isn't too long.
Either way, if it did get lost somewhere along the way Amazon would post out a replacement free of charge.

Two weeks is really not a long time for shipping from the UK to the US!

I buy tons of stuff which takes much longer than that (travelling in the opposite direction)

I think you're going to end up with two copies. Surprised they were prepared to send a replacement so quickly.

I already asked them, they no longer have the rights. Ditto Pretty Poison (the other title I asked about). Speaking of 1930's horror, I wonder if Network will eventually put out The Ghoul. Last time I spoke to someone was in May of last year and was told that "we hope that The Ghoul will get its blu-ray release soon, however we cannot yet put a date on this." Maybe it's time for another email...

had a friend then that UPS manage to loose a 42 inch that had a tracking coding. again amazon shipped him another with a different carrier.

It might be a bit of a pain but if you wade back through this thread there are quite a few posts from people who have had problems with the Creature disc - myself included.

It seems that there isn't exactly a problem with the disc itself but that some Blu players have problems playing it, so perhaps you are just one of the unlucky ones.

As for a replacement, when I had the problem I contacted Universal and they were very unhelpful and wouldn't replace it. However I'd bought it through Amazon and they were kind enough to replace the whole box. Unfortunately as I said the problem seems to rest with the player rather than the disc itself so my "new" disc had the same problem.

If you know someone else with a Blu player maybe try it in theirs to see if it works OK.

Well, I just got a 3D TV and a 3D player and played Creature in it - as I expected, it played just fine. LG TV and player.

Yeah I *think* it's just those of us trying to play the 2D version on an ordinary (non-3D) Blu player that are having the problem - and then it's only some ordinary players that are having the problem.

I suspect it's something to do with having the 3D version on the same disc because I have exactly the same problem with my Dial M For Murder disc from the WB Hitchcock Collection.

Eventually I'll upgrade to a better player, but at least I still have the DVD of Creature to watch when I want to...

I ordered this from Amazon UK last month with no problem receiving it here in California, in good condition as well. It was meant as a gift for a friend who was thrilled to get it. Now I'm wanting to get my own copy, but the Amazon page now says it's "Under Review". Anyone here happen to know what the issue may be. Hopefully it's something that isn't permanent. Thanks in advance!

Amazon often put things under review, it's usually much to do about nothing, or in this case the faulty disc of Creature from the Black Lagoon. I still haven't checked mine as my set is still sealed. I haven't heard of any other problems.

Your Amazon in the US has done something similar to THX-1138. Usually it lasts long enough for Amazon to find they can't do much about it!

Or for their fulfilment centres to get their acts together and respond.

I had an issue with an order recently that had to be put on hold until a question got answered. They sent me a "We'll get back to you in 2 business days, please be patient" message ... then another one two days later ... then another one two days after that ... and so on for 36 business days (seven weeks!!) until they simply ... gave up. No more messages, no resolution, and they just shipped the order without even asking me if I still wanted it.

Amazon's service is generally brilliant, we all know — but not when any level of co-ordinated communication is required, sadly.

That stinks mate!

I went through Warner Bros. customer service the other day and they were quick to respond but their stance on the issue was slightly off. I received The Wizard of Oz with some serious lo-res artwork for a cover and they said they don't send out defective products. Clearly they did as I have the thing on my shelf and another member had the same thing. I sent them a nice scan of the cover with Amazon's 100% superior compressed .jpeg to compare it with.

I honestly thought they'd say 'whoops' and post a replacement cover off to me. But alas. I'd send it back to Zavvi but they're Zavvi so it's not worth the effort!
