A lot of great choices in here. And I definitely agree with Traitor. Also if you’re looking for some that has an ‘entertainment’ factor, The Peacemaker with George Clooney is worth checking out.

The Battle of Algiers for the win. I revisited the Criterion movie again a few days ago.

Has anyone mentioned the nail-biter true story "NOT WITHOUT MY DAUGHTER" with Sally Field?

I wanted to like both Body Of Lies and Green Zone, however I found Green Zone a bit dull and had a hackneyed ending, and Body Of Lies I found Russell Crowe's character to be a complete douchbag and annoyed the hell out of me. The Kingdom was good though.

Jeez...Im a big Ridley Scott fan but Body of Lies was just very average to be honest and I certainly wont buy it (unlike a lot of other Ridley Scott films). Hurt Locker was better. Hell, I think Green Zone might have been better. Ridley also did Black Hawk Down of course which was much better.

Strange thread title though!

Gladiator and Kingdom of Heaven surely belong in a different thread? Both are excellent though. I still find it a shame that Crowe wasnt the lead in Kingdom of Heaven and Orlando Bloom wasnt the lead for Robin Hood - makes much more sense that way round.
