The same way I feel about the Possession Limited (And Standard!!) Edition.

Mondovision really rubs me raw with their constant use of Gen1 size casing, even on the cheaper releases that are still expensive!!!... But I digress...

Indeed. I love my Nostromo edition but the box is a fiddly little bastard, so much so I've just bought the regular case version (just the movies) for about £8 second hand. I dunno if it's got separate cases or a big keep case, I hope it's the former so I can sell off Alien Resurrection (spit!).

I always prefer chronological order for franchises, because they often rely on the audience's prior knowledge.
Top 20 Favorite Films: 1. The Dark Knight 2. The Shawshank Redemption 3. Pulp Fiction 4. The Empire Strikes Back 5. The Departed 6. The Lord of the Rings 7. Casino Royale 8. The Lion King 9. District 9 10. No Country For Old Men 11. Saving Private Ryan 12. Superbad 13. Spider-Man 2 14. Tropic Thunder 15. Jaws 16. Vertigo 17. Children of Men 18. Inception 19. The Iron Giant 20. Traffic

Some abhor the stupidity shown by the supposedly bright scientists, some don't like the clashes with past ideas about the giant alien guy - but many think it's just great eye candy in any case. Probably most of us fall somewhere in the middle of all that.

Haven't seen it since I last watched it in theaters in 2012.

The writing/script is really poor..

If you thought the scientists in Prometheus were idiots, you surely haven't see The Pyramid.

The archeologists in that piece of crap made the scientists in Prometheus look like absent minded geniuses.

On the topic of having the Alien Anthology AND Prometheus, I bought the Anthology last December and got the 3D Blu-Ray copy of Prometheus the day it came out so I could have the bonus features disc it came with.

Having a bare bones copy of Prometheus just rubs me the wrong way even if it's not a great movie.

I love it and all of the complaints are pure nonsense from people who can't acknowledge the same faults with Alien.

Honestly, I don't even hate Prometheus in any imaginable way.

When you have Alien: Resurrection and the AvP movies already in existence, Prometheus cannot be considered the worst of the series (as dubiously connected to it as is).

I believe Scott felt it was closer to the theatrical showings. Cameron added a teal tint to Aliens as well, but it works really well especially since the DVD had a magenta push.

I have the original thick book version of the Anthology and the 3D collectors edition of Prometheus. Do you guys think the Nostromo edition of Alien is worth getting for the non-disc based extras?

I watched Alien, Aliens and Prometheus last night with my brother. First two are still classics but I enjoyed Prometheus more than the time I saw it in the theater. It also felt shorter and I would put it with the last two Alien films now. My brother knew how much I hated the film when I saw it originally so he bought the BD as a birthday gift gag for me. He got the 3D version with the extras and it also had a mint slipcover.
