My current bluray player can't play most of my mkv redux (lossless) files, and wanted to know which current players out there have the
least amount of issues playing HD Audio. I've read these players can play MKV files pretty good: LG BD670 Panasonic DMP-BDT210 Panasonic DMP-BDT320 Philips BDP3200 Philips BDP5200 Sony BDP-S380 Sony BDP-S580 Has anybody here have any experience with mkv hd audio on any of these players, or is there some other players I should be looking at? |

Have you thought about building a HTPC?
It's where I store my .MKV files and play them on (and through my AVR).

If your just wanting to watch MKV files with HD audio the PS3 is the best option.
It doesn't play MKV natively but you can use a PC to convert the files into MPEG with a program called MKV2VOB. I've used it for years with fantastic results. Files convert in about a minute (1GB-2GB size) on your computer and the PS3 laps it up nicely. Thank you very much! |

Your best bet is to burn a disc with a Blu-ray file structure. You should be able to remux your MKVs with tsmuxer. I haven't tried this with just audio tracks, but it works great with video and audio. Last edited by PenguinMaster; 07-06-2012 at 03:31 AM. |
