polk Audio Rm85 , am i using HD audio? - Blu-ray Forum

I have a set of 5.1 Polk Audio Rm85 speakers and a Sony Receiver that has DTS HD Master audio and Dolby true HD. Question is are those speakers good enough to Enjoy the HD sound ?

Any speaker will do, now the question is will you really benefit from it? Sure you will. Would you notice more if you had higher end speakers? Most probably.

Are those speakers HD audio certifiied? If so, you'll definately hear a difference. Just kidding! :-P I can't imagine you won't hear a difference. Even with my speaker setup I find the HD audio a substantial upgrade and my speaker setup isn't exactly high end. It's also well over 10 years old now. See below.

Mains: Infinity Kappa 5.1's
Center: Infinity CC3
Surrounds (Side/Rear): Boston Acoustics' THX-certified VRS Pro's (in white)
Subwoofer: Velodyne VA1210
