Hey Gents, I need to pick up a few Xbox Live year pass...where is the best place for me to pick these up...at a good price.

On Black Friday they were 50 bucks on Amazon but I didn't see any super spectacular deals. Still worth it, if you ask me.

If you don't need a renewal immediately, the best thing to do is set a price watch at camelcamelcamel.com. Here is the Amazon tracker and here is the Best Buy tracker. Just enter your desired price along with your email address and they will shoot you a notification when the price drops.

Just a heads up newegg.com has the 12 month membership for $40. While not a killer deal, a deal nonetheless and $20 off retail.

So I received my codes from Newegg.com today and was wondering if I have to wait until my renewal time or will it reset the renewal date if I enter in early? Last year I renewed close to the renewal day and now I can't remember. Any help would be appreciated.

I think you can have up to 3 years in advance on your Xbox Live account. So if you are close to renewal time you can go ahead and redeem the code and it will just extend it another 365 days past your current expiration date. It does not make you lose anything if you have a month left and you redeem a 12 month card, you will still have 13 months. You will not be ripped off your remaining time.

If you need passes for gifts then ok. But if you need passes for your household then the Family Plan is the way to go. You get 4 subscriptions for a year for $100. You could also do this for people outside your household but you would be the moderator in a way to their subscriptions.

You can enter the code whenever you want. The new code will not take effect til your renewal date.

If you want to check the exact date your membership runs out, go to xbox.com, log in of course, and under your avatar is MY ACCOUNT, there you will see the date.
