Lost World is terrrrrrible, I howl with laughter every time Malcolm's daughter does her gymnastics thing on those handily placed uneven bars in the hut. At least JP3 knows it's a cheesy dinosaur romp, it's not some shonky sequel dressed up as A Steven Spielberg Film™.

I'd take JP3 over Lost World as well. Which is a shame because Lost World has many great scenes in it. It just also has many horrible scenes. JP3 is kind of average throughout.

Absolutely right. It's not like there's no goodness in Lost World at all, 'cause the bit with Julianne Moore on the splintering glass is aces. But the film's very awkward and disjointed, it shambles from scene to scene and it's populated with a bunch of extremely arseholic characters. Me no likey.

Kind of like how The Phantom Menace moved up on the likable meter for me over time, so has Lost World. I used to think it was awful, but watched it recently and while it's not what I would call good, it wasn't horrible. But, both Lost World and the third movie fall well behind the first movie (which goes without saying obviously).

I still get goosebumps when I watch the first one. I saw it in the cinema as a kid and it blew me away, and that experience has stayed with me. I think it's still an amazing film (and the 3D version is almost criminally enjoyable).

Lost World falls so far short it's embarassing (a couple of bravura action scenes aside), as there's none of that spine-tingling sense of wonder when they first see the dinos and the eco-warriors vs evil plundering hunters angle is damned tiresome.

Three is more like a DTV Jurassic Park flick, but it's got a bit more energy and fun and humour compared to its po-faced predecessor. Poorest CG/practical dinos of the lot, though.

I guess the good thing about Jurassic World is that it's following two mediocre sequels so the bar's been set fairly low. If they can get it anywhere near the first one - I'm thinking of the IMAX scenes in particular, imagine the screen opening up to reveal a massive dino towering over you - then we're gonna be in for a treat.

To me, the initial scene in The Lost World justifies the entire movie.
Top 10 Favorite Movies: 1. The General 2. City Lights 3. The Third Man 4. The Night of the Hunter 5. Vertigo 6. A Hard Day's Night 7. Chinatown 8. Brazil 9. Before Sunrise 10. The Royal Tenenbaums

I hear the world in mono, view it in VistaVision, and see it in both Technicolor and Black & White.

Unfortunately the goofy English accents kill that bit for me, I just can't take it seriously.

I agree JP III feels and looks the cheapest of the 3, but its self aware so to speak and sets out simply to entertain which it does. The Lost World is just boring and disconnected. It had its highlights, but the film overall has lackluster direction and editing. It's a choir to sit through.

Shouldn't the JP III poster have the Spinosaurus in the poster seeing as he is the centerpiece Dinosaur?

Say what you want about the third one but it has the coolest and most numerous dino action scenes out of all the movies
