Wow. Nice.

I'm still happy to see it in the 7th at the Henry Ford, but that is a nice deal.

I'm jealous he's already seen it twice!

Interstellar is bold & ballsy. Huge ideas done in a concrete grounded way, and some of the finest space travel spectacle this side of 2001.

Plus if you're a space nut like me there's an IMAX sequence of the ship passing Saturn that'll make you pee. (Hey that rhymed)

Interestingly enough, the IMAX version is shorter by just over a minute:

Interstellar [70mm IMAX]

Probably just sped up credits, but worth posting nonetheless.

So I was doing some research on IMAX vs. 4K Digital projection. I plan on seeing the 4K. Will I actually be missing stuff from the movie because the screen size is cropped? IMAX said you see the whole frame compared to the cropped 4K. This is really shocking and kind of a bummer if it is true.

Nolan and co will have planned where the crops will be, so that people watching on anamorphic screens (aka most people) won't be missing out on important details and probably never realise on the open frame. It'll be like the two Batman films.

That is like 1/2 of the screen cut out! I don't know, I am thinking I should just go see this in IMAX and hope I don't get motion sickness.

Cool. Now about the completist in me. The AMC is said to be a LIEMAX and the "real" IMAX is across town at a different theater chain. Will I be able to tell the difference in screen size or should I just not worry about it?

Yes, the difference would be the middle picture and the picture on the right.
