The darker, blue-tinged DVD certainly seems truer to the kind of colour palette that Fox fancied in the 1960s. On the other hand, the images on the (ironically not so) Blu ray are at least visible..

I dunno, but I saw it on Channel 4 HD sometime last year, and IMO, for some reason that broadcast looks better than this Blu-ray version.

Seconding my Blu-ray compatriot. I own the Collector's Edition or whichever without the slipcase on 2-Disc DVD. Still has all the extra paper materials. The DVD honestly looks better compared to the Blu-ray. I'll wait for caps-a-holic to do their comparisons.
Of course if it were my dream company, every title would get at least a mandatory 4K remaster with the film grain always retained. Including the original cinematic track always in lossless or uncompressed, for the film discs. No use in wanting Battle of Britain or A Bridge too Far remastered anymore with the special features from their DVD counterparts. This is esentially The Great Escape but a different locale. It's the pair up film and I enjoy both.

Sorry to bang on about the region coding but my copy arrived in the UK today and to my horror it has region 'A' printed on the back. I only bought it because the review stated 'A, B'. Can anyone confirm it will not play on a region B player so I can pop it onto ebay?
