Default Aspect ratio differences in danish editions

Hi. I'm from Denmark and this is my first post so bear with me if the grammar and spelling is off

In the danish blu-ray release of 'Seven Psychopaths' the aspect ratio is 1.85:1. On the included DVD the aspect ratio is 2.35:1. Has anyone any clue whatsoever why this is? On the US and UK BD editions the aspect ratio also is 2.35:1.

On Imdb the correct aspect ratio is listed as 2.35:1. Imdb also lists the source format as 3 perf. Super 35 film. Why would the change it to 1.85:1??? Could it be that they opened the matte on only the danish release, so that there is more picture information on the top and bottom on the danish edition?

PS. This is also the case on the danish release of 'Warrior'

Kind regards
Allan S.

Good question, but it sounds like your Danish distributor got a hold of a HDTV master or something of the like. Alliance has the habit of doing the same thing in Canada.

Yeah, but then why is the DVD in 2.35:1? It makes no sense to me

That's the perplexing part. Maybe the DVD came from a different supplier.

Second time. Either the review of the PQ here is way off or red box is passing off DVD's as Blus's. My rented copy tonight was not 5.0 at all more like 3.3. ugh!

I'm not too worried about the missing slip, but as far as I'm aware from reviews and seeing copies in stores the blu-ray has no such features. Is this a modified edition somehow? Has anyone else received this same edition?
I recently noticed this, picking up a copy in a store to look at the back, and took a picture of it, which caused several people who own the disc to confirm that the discs they bought on the release date did not have those extras. When it drops, I'll get the new disc, but it is certainly a mystery -- I can't think of any other Blu-Ray that was secretly upgraded within a few months of its initial release.

EDIT: I took a picture.

I love this movie so I'll probably pick up the version with more special features when it hits the $5 mark. Still, kind of lame that they re-released it with new features instead of including them initially.

This is on sale right now at Fry's for $10.99. All the copies at my Fry's were the newer edition. I have a listing for the newer version pending in the database. Here is a scan of the cover in case people are interested. Sadly, the UPCs are the same, making it impossible to be sure you're tracking down the new one.

This is now part of the Sony Savestation at Best Buy. It's $9.99. Last time I was there, the only copies they had were the re-releases. If it's the same price during the next U&S, I'll definitely be picking it up.

I got mine from Amazon last week for $9.99 and it's the updated version with the highlighted text in the features box stating it now includes Deleted and Extended Scenes and the Gag Reel.

Makes no sense why they didn't include those on the initial release. This wasn't a movie like Avatar or Transformers 3 where plenty of people would double-dip.

I'd love to have the gag reel, but I already bought the movie. Oh well...

I know it's pretty late in the game for me to be posting this, but I got the re-release the other day and the bonus features not on the first edition are inconsequential.
The bloopers are 2 very short scenes and neither of them are very funny. The first one is woody harrelson's character and gabourey sidibe (sp?)'s char in the bathroom where he's threatening her with the gun, and she just messes up her line and yells "F***"! The second scene is when Sam Rockwell's character is out in the desert describing the graveyard shootout and he does a really poor job through his delivery and cracks about four times when he has to deliver the classic-for-this-movie line "AND SHE GETS MOWN DOWN!"
The deleted/extended scenes are more lengthy (but then just about every bonus feature ever is, compared to the 2 minute bloopers), and includes about 7 scenes. They're not terrible but neither are they any good. In total, it's over 10 minutes of extra footage.

The only deleted scene is one with Woody Harrelson's and Olga Kurylenko's characters at the burial ceremony for the two hitmen who died in the very first scene of the movie, and he learns that his dog has been stolen, and that the guy who took her has a "neckerchief" - the reason this scene was deleted is because it kind of messes up the continuity in a later scene when he and Christopher Walkens characters are in the hotel lobby, plus it throws off the pacing and honestly was pretty poorly acted by Woody and the extras, at least the mothers did a pretty lousy job. The exchange between Woody and Olga is kind of amusing.

If you have the original and absolutely love this movie I do not recommend you get this second edition unless you won the lottery or have a $250k / year job and somehow still have free time to watch blu ray extras. I really enjoy this movie but was not very impressed with these new extras. I didn't double dip for what it's worth.
here: set it to vibrate and finish yourself off

I imagined they were probably inconsequential, but many of us are also obsessive completists.
