Default Panasonic TC-L47E50

I have been looking at this TV for a while to replace a 4 year old 40" Samsung LCD. Anybody hear good or bad about this set? Not a lot of reviews that I have been able to find on it yet. Is this worth the $799 that Best But has it for right now. Should I pick it up and tell myself Happy Father's Day?

I have the same model but 42in. I got it for 729.99 at Best Buy. I can not report for the internet features because i have not used them.

The tv is okay. I might return it and get the 47in tomorrow. I think its a decent TV. It has mostly all good reviews on Best Buy and Amazon. I think that the picture quality on a Samsung or Sony would be better but you would be paying more. However I think Panasonic is a more reliable TV then Samsung, about the same with Sony.

Samsung TVS have a high failure rate. So if you want a reliable tv without it having perfect picture quality then go for this one. 800 is a good price. 47in is the way to go because most blu-rays are in 2:35:1 aspect ratio and that does cut the picture down in size.

I have the 42'' also and I love it.

Hey evo.....Does your tv sort of swivel left and right just a little bit if you try to turn it or is it just my set?

My tv will swivel just barely and then the stand stars to move with the tv. But I upgraded to the 47in for 800 dollars. Hey do you have a good calibration setting for this tv?

I have found that if you turn up contrast and backlight to 100, then turn on energy saving and CATS (room light adjuster) in a dark room it looks good most of the time.

Also I using Dark picture setting really crushes the blacks on the TV and sometimes Light can really cause the background to look grayish.
