Default WB Steelbooks

Is there any defensive word on if the new wave of WB steelbooks will be available in store or on any kind of price drop?
Thanks!

FWIW if you're referring to the Christopher Lambert Fortress, several stores in L.A. supposedly have it according to the BBY site. Available for in-store pick-up, too. Interestingly enough though, the BestBuy.com status of the title is "Backordered." No sign of Playing By Heart in L.A. stores near me though.

They're not online exclusives but very few stores seem to have gotten the display for them. I've only seen them in 2 of the 10 stores that I've visited. Same story with the WWE display and the Asian title display that are out now.

These displays are normally display MVS-11, 12, and 13.
Meaning endcap run 11, 12 & 13. So for instance if your store has 6 rows of movies then you probably have endcap 11 and/or 12 but not 13.
If it only has 4 rows of movies then you probably only have through
endcap 8.

I'm over 3 stores.
1 store has 11 endcap fixtures (#11 right now is the WWE display)
1 store has 6 endcap fixtures (No WWE, No Epic Movie Cash display)
1 store has 4 endcap fixtures. (same as above and no Chick Flick Endcap)

It just really depends on size of your store and size of your media department.

Occasionally some of the titles from these endcap displays will show up in the smaller stores but it's only a small handful and end up inline and bought rather quickly.

@ Mile High AI

Did BB stop allowing people to call in and hold titles? I tried that today w/the only store that had ST:BoBW and the guy that answered said they can't do it anymore because it was messing up online orders?

Makes sense. The two stores that I saw the endcaps in seem to have the biggest media departments in terms of aisles and thus would have space for additional endcaps. Right now one of the stores has endcaps (which I don't recall seeing in other stores) for The Office, DVD multi-packs, Asian titles, WWE, and some of the $5.99 exclusives. My guess would be that Best Buy media departments don't get much bigger than that one.

Thanks for taking the time to explain it.

My store has 2 ends caps. lol

That's it. And even then it is very old stuff.

I think it is...some Fox 3D titles on one and then the other is other random titles.

That is more of a store preference thing because all the stores I'm overseer of media on still has Customer Service go and pull titles to hold.
In a related note, I will also if a customer in store wants, hold a title when product comes in and call customer when it is in. But that second part is me just being me LOL.

I have a question though for all of you (figure good as place as any to ask)
Now since I'm the Anderson rep, we're in the stores more than other vendors. We're actually doing work daily as well (nothing against DirecTV but anyone can walk around for 8 hours asking if you want Cable) But my question is:
How many of you think "Does he/she work here?" and then actually ask said person when you see the white shirt/black pants & lanyard person literally moving piles upon piles of movies/music in order and such???

I gotta ask because it seems this question from customers is getting more and more to the point I want to say "No, I'm just severely OCD and Best Buy is nice enough to help me manage my addiction."

Thanks for any replies if you do reply

I was wondering if any of you kind Best Buy employees could find out if the new Sony 4K Ghostbusters Bluray will be available in store on Tuesday? I know the official release date isn't until 5/14, but according to the Best Buy website, they are releasing it on 5/7.

Link: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Ghostbus...0blu&lp=1&cp=1

If they are getting it a week early, you would think it would be available in store, right?

I'm in various Best Buys all the time and I've honestly never seen an Anderson rep or been approached by a DTV person. In the past year, I've seen Best Buy employees in the media department only about half a dozen times. I guess the reps in my area work in the early morning when I'm never there.

However, I've been approached multiple times by people who have asked me whether I work there. Usually I'm wearing a jacket, t-shirt, and blue jeans. It happens most often when I'm digging through one of the 'treasure' bins. So, it's not just Anderson reps - random customers are being asked that too.

I actually can tell usually who the Anderson reps are and try to chat them up when possible but I do ask random peeps at Target that all the time, and they never work there either. I think usually, it's just desperation on the part of the customer, at least it is that reason for me.

I know the Anderson rep at my store and we laugh every time someone comes up asking for something. He just tells them that he is a Vendor.

Funny thing is that the lady that works at WM told me the same thing and then I saw her help someone about a week later.

Any news on the Jack Reacher Exclusive edition from Best Buy? Does it come with this exclusive slipcover, like the Canadian Best Buy exclusive?

I don't think that the American slipcover for Jack Reacher is good, but I still think it's better than the Canadian one (too busy).

For what it's worth, one of my BB stores (haven't checked the others yet) broke 3D Blu-rays out onto their own rack again like they used to have them! It had it's own signage along the top that said Blu-ray 3D, just like the Action/Sci-fi, Drama, Comedy, TV and Family sections!!!
