Thanks. It's the head set I have. Packed the box away in the garage but now I know it's on the box not the head itself will go and check

Good review that pretty much sums up my thoughts on the conversion:

Buy.com Exploitation!

The movie itself is $35 dollars here in Oz, with the special Sonny head edition for $135,

which by my calculations mean they are charging us a full $100 dollars for Head..

Seem's expensive to me, that's all....it should be a full service for that price.

Oooh. Who's selling the head edition? Didn't spot it at any of the retailers last week

Don't think I'd pony up that kind of cash for it (especially after buying the UK edition a couple of weeks ago). Spewing that the UK edition didn't even have a lenticular cover though!

JBhifi. It really does not impress, maybe I would have jumped if it at least lit up!

Since it was a limited edition of just 250 copies I wouldn't have expected to see copies in any retail stores. In fact I think it may well have been an Amazon UK exclusive.

Playing it with my Sony 60 set at "0" 3D depth boost it was flat , changed it to +1 it was OK most of the time , at +2 it fell apart , started ghosting too much.
I was in love with a beautiful blond once , she drove me to drink ,
tis' the one thing I'm indebted to her for !!

How funny, literally a day or two after posting, I saw it at JB. It impressed me, but only because of the sheer size of it (it was much bigger than I was expecting). I noticed the painting job on it to be fairly sub-par though. And I agree with you on that - lights would have maybe tipped me over the edge! Ultimately, left it on the shelf - as did many others by the looks of how many they had in stock!

Agree that a 3D boost is needed for I Robot's mostly weak 3D conversion.

So I am hearing mixed things about the films 3D conversion some seem to really like it while others seem to say its kind of average. The blu is on sale for $15 so I assume its at least worth that. I guess with this one I will just have to see for myself to find that out

The ones who say they like it are just covering up their own guilt for falling for the hype and purchasing the dung in the first place......

It's crap don't buy it, unless you want the film itself in the new aspect ratio, the 3D is WOEFUL....

Im perfectly happy with my copy of I, Robot 3d. Ive watched it 3 times already in search of the issues so many people claim this movie has. I have not experienced any issues whatsoever. There is decent depth throughout and not a hint of ghosting anywhere. I dont particularly like the aspect change to 1:78:1, because i prefer the directors intended aspect, but in this case i dont think they cut out too much. I noticed a bit gone from the sides, but more picture added on the top and bottom. I bought I robot 3d based on the 3d preview i saw on my 3d copy of Abe Lincoln Vampire Hunter.

I have a 3D sampler disc with 2 clips from I, Robot 3D on (Got it free when I went to get MvA from HMV) and after watching them, I was quickly turned off by the lack of 3D in the first clip (The one where
[Show spoiler]what I think is the robot, Sonny, escaping from a lab
). If I had to choose between this and Tron Legacy (Not a fair comparison pitting a native versues a conversion, but they both seem to have a similair approach to the 3D use), I'd pick the latter.

Might pick up the original release since the actual movie clips piqued my interest. Just not the 3D in them.

agreed, this is a poor conversion FACT. If people want any further evidence before buying check out the "industry" reviews.
I cant comment on why people like it, personally I just dont get it.

I gave this a re-watch last night, and I must say I was a little more pleased this time around.

Perhaps it's because I knew what to expect this time and my expectations were not out the roof - it's exciting when you hear a back catalog movie is getting a 3D release, I think it's easy to say you're not going to go in expecting much yet your bar will always be high, even if you deny it - we watch 3D because we like 3D and what do you want from a 3D movie? Lot's of 3D!

So I popped it in excited to watch the movie, having seen the film a first time and already having an opinionated judgement of the conversion, I paid more attention to the actual film this time around and found myself oddly... comfortable..? May be the word I'm looking for? Comfortable with the conversion quality. There are some undeniable mistakes, and the depth tends to stay at a min, but I accept this for what it is, a hell of a great job given the team size and project time, and have came to the following conclusion - I hope FOX keeps their chips on the table and rides this hand out, a couple tweaks here and there and I think they could have a good thing on their hands. It will always be debatable with the GP - some will always say this is a terrible waste, but I hope a few can look past into the process it took to make this conversion happen, the intense labor behind something like this, and the logistics of it.

Some say you have to crawl before you walk..

I say you have to Clash before you Titanic.
Want to manually convert 2d to 3d yourself and accurately - not with an automated software? Check out my topic and tutorial here.

Fox Connect just sent me my canceled order of the i,Robot head last week (my parent's house). I skimmed through my credit card statements and did not make a purchase for it, as it is supposed to be charged once they sent the package. I can't see the package but my parents said there's a tag on the box saying do not sale until Dec. 26th '12. And I had a call from Fox Connect (CA)... Time to check out this mystery of why they sent me a free copy by mistake.

Have to thoroughly check my bank statements and the calls/email I got from them.

EDIT: Looks like I did receive the email and a voice mail message asking me to send it back :/ Just have to print out the label and ship it back to them.. No charge of course.
