i live in Sri lanka, i recently bought a blu ray player and started to watch BD films, latest i bought was chandramukhi, but not the ORIGINAL, The original here is being sold for 5000/= (local currency), where as the copied one is 500/= ($3.78) For people living in foreign countries, the price of the original is reasonable, but here where the average man's work salary is itself about 10,000, it is a ridiculous price.

@Sharan hope you read this!

I think Shahran can't do much with the pricing.

Heard that Chandramukhi didn't sell well as expected.

I am not going to go into an Ethics review here, but the copied version was probably on a BD25 as compared to the original version, which is a BD50 in most cases. Obviously, you are sacrificing quality there..

That's true. Sometimes you buy the "original" cd from ayngaran in canada but then when you put it in the cd player the tags show tamilnapster.com or something haha

That is the reason I don't buy from others even with good pricing. Hope Ayngaran fixes their eshop website problem soon. Without paypal and with expired certificate, it is too much risk.

one more question @ Sunny sir why AP International can't release DVD9 upcoming movies. they release all recent movies like: Istam, Urumi, KSY, 18 Vayasu, Marina 1080p HD @ their youtube channel & indiaglitz for stream view only.

The fact that we are getting more Tamil blu-rays is good news..but what is going to be the long-term future of Ayngaran and further blu-ray releases from them? Any educated guesses?

PPV Streaming / VOD actually sells more then blu-ray or DVD. Plus there is no waiting time for for artwork, menus, subtitle replication...etc...
Do not worry they will release the films on DVD9 soon...

I've spoken to the CEO of AP International.

He is planning to ship Chandramkuhi blu-rays discs to Ayngaran from tommorow. He has stated that the artwork should be the AP International version only. see below

Anything different from the one above is considered a pirate.

Ok thanks, but Ayngaran havn't stopped BD's and DVD's completely right? It's just been put on hold.

Cause various people are saying Ayngaran has lost money and they won't do any films again.

thats Film production, after with Eros tie-up, Ayngaran produced many films which didn't hit the jackpot. Hence,Ayngaran now stopped the film production.

but still, its a waste of money to but the originals, as far as I know only the copies are being sold with profit, even DVD copies are now Rs 35 (approx 0.27 USD) this is the large amount of piracy here in Sri Lanka
