Good last episode. would be better if the show wasnt ending. especially after
[Show spoiler]the last second shot of Darkseid
But hey, the commercial for Teen TITANS Go was......worse than I thought the series would be. so at least we lose a great series for some faux chibi animation that looks to be mostly about food.

great.

Yeah, I definitely won't be watching Teen Titans Go. For them to replace a great show with what was originally a short (not a very good one either) is totally crazy. Hope others follow suit and not watch TTG and send them a message.

I've recently purchased the first two DVD volumes containing the first 8 episodes and I like what I've been seeing. My favourite character by miles would definitely be Miss Martian. I just love the way she says "Hello Megan" when an answer is perfectly obvious.

It's got to be the red hair.

Apparently, there's a little glimmer of hope for both this and Green Lantern: TAS.

Something I've been thinking for a while.

The Simpsons will go for 25 years when it is all said and done. Family Guy has been around nearly half that long now.

Basically, there have been several animated prime-time shows... add to that South Park and some newer fare like Archer...

Then add the success of super-hero themed movies in recent years.

I say WB should look to make a primetime animated super-hero show. Forget the early-morning stuff on the weekend. Shows like Young Justice and GL had solid stories that adults were watching too.

I think a well-done animated series could make a go in primetime. Also, if they did it like they did Justice League Unlimited where they could focus on pretty much the entire DC universe and do standalone episodes or multi-parters, they would have a pretty flexible landscape.

Actually, Young Justice started as a Friday evening show (~ 6pm time slot). I really liked it when it was at this time. I believe it and The Clone Wars were on one after the other at that time.

Glimmer, hah!

Maybe they'll finally make the Judas Contract direct-to-video animated movie they said they'd make a long time ago... and make it in continuity with Young Justice?

And yeah, WB knows there's demand from adults for this stuff. Look at The Dark Knight Returns. There's NO WAY that stuff was made for kiddies. It's a shame they can't get that on TV. Even if not in primetime, I'm sure Adult Swim would love to have some serious superhero fare.
I need to stop buying so many movies and not getting around to watching them.

Yeah, I remember... but they didn't go for full primetime... and also, it was still on Cartoon Network.

I say put it on primetime network TV and see what happens.

That's why I said glimmer. Because that's all I think there is. Not very much. You're last sentence got me thinking, though. If Adult Swim could get rights to an actual licensed comic book cartoon, that would be amazing. I'd even go back to the days where WB was broadcasting the likes of X-Men: TAS, Spider-Man: TAS and Batman: TAS.

Batman, Superman, and Justice League were all on Toonami once upon a time. But then Toonami became all about anime, and now that it's back as part of the Adult Swim block it helped inspire, it's STILL all about the anime.

A primetime superhero cartoon on a bigger network than Cartoon Network isn't a horrible idea. Fox would be a perfect fit, but they would not use a property they don't own a stake in the rights.

I thought that too... and then with Disney/ABC having purchased Marvel, it is doubtful that ABC would air a DC-themed cartoon either.

That leaves CBS, NBC, and CW.

The CW really would be the best fit... OR NBC being still in the bottom tier might take a bite at a series since they had been interested in that Wonder Woman pilot. I think CBS is not looking at this demographic.

Still... NBC or CW might be able to make a go of it.

It would have to be CW. They are the logical choice due to their ties with WB. But they don't target that demographic

Take a deep breath before you read this...Bruce Timm, the godfather of DC animation, has stepped away from WB Animation. Apparently he was going to work on Green Lantern:TAS until it got canceled.

It's the end of an era for DC's animated projects and the beginning of a new one, one which should make its fans nervous.

That's not to say other people can't do it... but Bruce Timm has been there since the beginning of modern DC-animated series.

Rumors going around now say that Timm will be heading up a new Justice League cartoon series. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

That would be good news. Let's all hope that turns out to happen. I never understood why they canceled the first one, and Young Justice made me feel like I had JLU back again almost.
