Just received mine from Amazon.ca (Canada) and it only took 5 days to make to Georgia from the evening I ordered it. I paid $29 U.S. dollars (shipped) for the collector's edition but it does not come with a slip sleeve cover. But it does have all the extra's missing on the newest Shout Factory generic release.. You might want to keep an eye on them just in case they get more in since they were cheaper than Amazon U.S. blowitoutahere and EBAY.

That's one expensive slipcover

Seriously though, amazon resellers charge insane prices. Ebay is the actual test to see what something is worth.

I wouldn't count on getting a slip. This is probably the re-release without the bonus feature that had to be removed and no slip was made for it.

It's still showing as the 2 disc collectors edition and has the same product number as the first release. It's not the re-release with the original poster art. I'll be pissed if that's the one I get! Lol

Who thinks the pq is one of SF's best with Nightbreed, Sleepaway Camp, Halloween 2/Producer's Cut of 6, Squirm, Deadly Eyes, lake Placid, Ginger Snaps, Saturn 3 etc.?

Hey Randall, do you think the vampires in this movie are better unconventional vampires than certain ones that glitter in the sunlight? and what if she met Edward Cullen?

Who'd like to see a remake? i do! maybe Eva Green or Ann Hathaway as the space vampiress, Timothy Olyphant as Carlson and some others. Cash in on today's vampire and zombie trend you know.

While Anne Hathaway and Eva Green are both known for being okay with nudity, I don't think either would walk around completely naked an entire movie. You'd have to get an unknown actress trying to make a splash to do such a thing.

sadly, even if you could find an actress willing to do it, movies today don't seem as keen on the gratuitous nudity as they were in the 80s... i'm sure any remake would be toned down drastically.

Here in the Uk we get what's called the Arrow release.
Here on Blu-ray.com the review is based on the Shout (Scream Factory) release.

I go and read this User review:
Arrow offers a fine AVC encoded 1080p transfer in an expansive 2.35:1. format in which Hooper oversaw both the restoration and transfer. The results far exceed the old SD version and is even an improvement on the Shout (Scream Factory) US release as it puts both versions ( ie the Theatrical and International versions) on their own separate disc and have cleaned up the prints even more thoroughly than the impressive American edition.

The review mentions improvement based on there being two versions included. It bothers me they wrote 'cleaned up the prints even more thoroughly than the impressive American edition'.
Is that an improvement? cleaned up? digitally? or simplyauto correct?
..as I doubt they gave it the full Jaws make-over. Did Hooper really over see the restoration twice, and if so, why?

Eva Green already did for most of Sin City 2.

How about Lauren London, Kerry Washington or some other talented hot black actress for the role of the space girl in a remake? i mean it can be different for once as one of those black leads replacing white lead remakes and do an interracial sex angle between the space girl and the astronaut, i can see Adrien Brody as Carlson and the 2 can do some space jungle fever romance.

I mean a remake can work since vampires and zombies are hot property now you know and do you think it can be a better modern vampire film than Twilight? and do you think the vampires in this movie are more interesting than ones that glitter in the sunlight?

Just imagine if the space girl met Edward Cullen.
