My order (placed on 12/26/2012) arrived today from Amazon. Can't really complain, considering how cheap it was

I watched Sword of Vengeance today and the DNR didn't really bother me at all. Definitely worth the $17!

Yeah I agree. It is there but it is minor.

It is not to the level of Predator Ultimate Hunter edition....

Here's my unboxing and thoughts about the movies and the set:
http://youtu.be/0Mi-Gs0piGI

I thought the picture quality is a step up over the DVD rips I've seen of the films, despite the tad bit of DNR and the sound quality is fantastic, however, I wish the menu could of been a lot better. Oh well, I'm also happy to have gotten the set for dirt cheap.

I was able to get this for around $17 as well and did a two day marathon of all 6 films last week.

I am not an expert but I did not find the issues with this release all that distracting either. Very much enjoyed revisiting these films.

I watched the films via my PS3 and a 55in. LG LCD panel FYI.

Overall I am still very happy with this set. Films 1-4 though for me are far better than the last 2. Changing directors seems to have changed the storytelling/pacing in the last 2 movies.

It's just a shame they couldn't be bothered to put out a set that included ALL the movies together, with SHOGUN ASSASSIN and the rest with English dubs and Japanese audio with English subs.

I don't have a large screen or a reference system but these movies look great to me. It seems that everyone expects perfection but what is that perfection? It is subjective. We know some of what it takes to restore and remaster a film but what about the day to day decisions that have to be made. And studios giving the rights to outside sources can make a difference based on what is sent to that source. Everyone seems so picky. Oh well, just my opinion.

Just thought I'd mention for anyone who is one the fence that this is now officially OOP. My thoughts are that the DNR is there, overdone but bearable. I A/B'ed against the Animeigo DVD's when I got it and it was overall an improvement.

The Shogun Assassin set seems to be OOP print as well, although the first film doesn't appear to be.
