OK, I have a 80 GB fat PS3 (with Backward compatibility) for the last 4 years, and I just bought this new 3D HD Smart TV, it's a LG Google Smart TV, it's 55'' with Cinema 3D, the model number is 55LMG620. Here's the picture of the TV I bought.
![]() I bought a HDMI wire along with the TV. Now today I hooked up my PS3 to the new HD 3D Google Smart TV. As soon as I set it up (putting the HDMI and the AV Out wire) and turned on my PS3, the TV start to give off a electric "bzzzt" sound off the TV speaker, I tried tweaking the AV out wire to make sure it's fully plugged in and that sound is still there. Also I tried to set up the video output on my PS3 to HDMI on the video output, but somehow it didn't work. Let me put this in good detail. I select HDMI on video output selection, after I click "connect" and the screen turned black, and after 30 seconds, the screen just went back to the setup and I didn't see any picture changes (in other word, no 1080P pristine picture). The picture is still at 480i resolution. I tried it over and over again, and the picture didn't went from low resolution to 1080P. Does anyone with PS3 (specifically a old model) have this same brand and type of TV like the I have had similar problem like I mention on this thread? Please respond and tell me how I can fix it. I like to note my PS3 firmware update is current and up to date. |

I've already found out the problem you mention from another forum. Yes, HDMI only, no AV out cable. Thanks for responding though.
