I haven't got a chance to watch these YouTube videos yet -- I'm currently making sure I have them preserved -- but I agree with the comments that the edit of the ending goes on a little too long and some things appear strangely out of order (like the two shots of the dog running amidst the chaos).

Never seen those parts of "Meek". It's one of my favorite songs from the show, but geez, they made odd artistic choices for it. I'm actually kind of glad it was cut. (Never thought I'd say that.) Still, though, every time I hear "Some Fun Now", I miss "Meek Shall Inherit".

Little Shop of Horrors is probably one of my favorite Blu-Rays that was released last year especially for only being $15, it was a bargain for such an amazing film. I remember paying $10 for the DVD used at Blockbuster, but it then got damaged and overplayed, so I had to get a new one at it was very hard to find at the time, so I went to Boarders and found it for $12.99. It is an all-time favorite of mine and extremely underrated imo. The Blu-Ray is amazing, while the digi-book is not a big deal to me, it's an added bonus.

I watched the "Director's Cut" with an 11 year old who had no background info on the story of this production.
After a bit of complaint about it being a musical she eventually settled into it. Maybe even enjoyed it. Then at the end. . . "Is that how it ends? It's not very satisfying. It was alright up until they died." I had to agree with her, and so we watched the other ending. |

One of last year's best blu-rays and the picture is quite sharp on both cuts and so is the audio remastering. I'm glad Frank Oz put both cuts in the film and was FINALLY interesting to see the alternate ending that Frank Oz had for the film yet when test audiences hated it, he had to reshoot the ending to make Seymore kill the plant.
A fun sci-fi horror cult musical comedy no doubt and Steve Martin was hilarious in it as Orin, Ellen Greene was cute and had a nice voice and Rick Moranis is one of my fave actors. I actually saw this in theaters when i was 5 years old in my former city and saw it 4 times as i loved it, i even had the cards to the magazine and Audrey II bank. Did anyone else saw this in theaters when it came out? |
