If it was the only version out there then I'd gladly fart about with the colour and whatnot when I watch it again (I've already mentioned turning down the sharpness to offset the EE), but it's not the only version. And thank **** for that.

From the comparisons, what about this shot? http://caps-a-holic.com/hd_vergleich...ess=#vergleich
The texture in Keith's face doesn't vanish. No denying the US disc is not perfect (what disc is?), but I think the issues are not nearly as bad as people are making them out to be. The special features are pretty good, especially the Keith David interview. That partially makes up for the awful clay faces. smh

Cinefile has the Carpenter(s) t-shirts back in stock if anyone's interested, I just ordered one along with the brilliant Almodovar/Aerosmith one. Too bad the Ozu/Ozzy is out of stock.

Well, you might be better off buying a used copy for that much.
Shout Factory Blu-rays don't seem to go on sale very often, and their limited availability through select retailers seems to make it more difficult to find a deal. On the off-chance a Best Buy near you happens to have a copy on their shelf and it's at $20, then you can do the Best Buy Upgrade and Save to deduct $5 off this weekend. But it's unlikely they'd have any copies.
Okay... show me.

It could be had for $11.34 + tax for members the week before Christmas at Barnes and Noble ($29.99 with 40% off all Blu-Ray sale = $17.99 then add in the 10% member discount and 30% off any item coupon. But you would have had to sign up for a 2 month free membership trial...).
Non-members had to pay $13.49 + tax ($17.99 minus 25% off any item coupon). |

Man, ya'll had me thinking I was gonna be watching Predator UHE or something, but that isn't the case by a damn sight.
Maybe my eyes are bad, maybe I'm stupid, maybe I don't care. I found nothing much to complain about after watching this the other night on my 67". Easily the best this film has ever looked or sounded to me (I own the French dvd with 5.1, but the DTS here smokes it). I'm happy my eyes aren't as good, I get to enjoy more blu-rays instead of find fault with them! Once in a while a face would look a bit too smooth, but no wax-figures like Predator (which is so bad it even bugs me). Fans of the film would be dissing themselves if they are skipping this due to poor forum reviews, you have to try it yourself. I've looked at the screens and all that and know the ratio would bug me more than any dnr or ee. This looks so much better in motion than the screens did.

I thought the image was fine. Some noticeable digtial manipulation at times, but not enough to really take me out of the film (like say the Goldeneye, Almost Famous, Ronin, or Mars Attacks blu rays). Still it looked film like overall, and the extras were excellent.
