The Xross Media Bar background matches the time of day (it's a living, breathing computer ) so if it's night the background will be black!

Yep, everything is correct. Does it go black to show its night-time or anything as its 3.20am here. It's not a problem for me just curious is all.

So far no one is currently using the HD-DVD Xbox 360 drive on the PS3. Now technically it would work with the USB connection on the PS3 if someone was to install Linux and make special drivers so that Win DVD or other compatible software would run with the XBOX 360 drive. In the future we might see someone do this. Since Universal Studios titles are the only major exclusive titles on HD-DVD there has not been that much demand for people to do this.
What some company should do is make a low cost BLU-RAY drive for the XBOX 360. I bet more BLU-RAY drives for the XBOX 360 would sale then HD-DVD drives. If Microsoft really was interested in HD-DVD they would produce XBOX 360 HDTV games on the HD-DVD format.

I have the same question!! But i'm wondering whether I should set it to output 720p or 1080p? 720p would result in a down scale and upscale...and 1080p would just result in a down scale.
