What will be shown/not shown on Wednesday?

1. Specs will NOT be revealed or talked about.

2. Launch window will be given. Q4 2013 . Q1 2014 in Europe.

3. Price will NOT be revealed until E3.

4. New controller will be shown, and demo'd with the new PSEye/Move

5. Vita integration shown

6. PS4 will be shown for the first time in public.

7. Battlefield 4 will be shown. 64 players on PS4. Lots of 3rd party tech demos, and maybe a demo from the developers of Heavy Rain.

8. Killzone 4 or new GG IP will be shown. Audience will be floored.

9. The Last Guardian shown and revealed as PS4 game. "This game is so ambitious that we had to move it to PS4" or something to that effect will be what they say.

10. Media Molecule exclusive will be shown.

11. Gakai streaming revealed. PS+ users will get a few free games to stream with Gakai each month. Beta may start on PS3.

12. Meeting ends with Uncharted 4 teaser. Either a title or a short snippet that will leave people wondering if it was CGI or the actual graphics.

I can deal with that. I'd love to have a new Uncharted coming out. I'm still hoping to pick up a Vita to play Golden Abyss.

My list

1. We will see more tech demos then actual gameplay video from real games. I expect to see some CG scene from a PS2 game like Final Fantasy X rendered in real time. Agni's Philosoph demo is shown in real time on PS4 hardware, maybe at 30fps.

2. Games we will see: Evolution's new racing game, Madden NFL 14, Tekken Tag Tournament 3, a new Ratchet and Clank. I dont expect to see many games. A handful at most.

3. Sony is confident the PS4 will be stronger then the 720, so they will give the specs, putting pressure on Microsoft

4. No mention of 4K

5. No specific launch date, just "later this year"

6. The light blue color of the PS logo seen in the teaser video will be part of the PS4 in some way, either in the console's color or in it's UI/XMB

7. The PS4 will be no larger then the first generation PS3 slim

8. Convert all games to 3D will be unveiled

9. Big artillery like Uncharted 4, Killzone 4, GT6, Big Fest, wont be shown until E3

10. It will be called Playstation 4

11. I call gamestop as soon as the conference is over to see if they are taking preorders

12 Kaz takes at least one swipe at Microsoft and Nintendo "The next generation begins when we say so"

I think PlayStation 4K would be a perfect name.

4K TV's are going to be huge. so people will equate PlayStation 4K with the stunning new tv's coming out.

I'm not saying thats what they'll name it. But it would be a smart move.

I wouldn't hold your breath for bf4. DICE has stated that they aren't showing this off till the end of May/start of June.

DICE has no strong ties to Sony either, thus it is highly doubtful that they would show this off at a Sony event.

I would expect specs, in house games, and maybe 2 exclusives.

I think 4K is still upwards 6+ years away. Right now it's the nitch of the nitch for tech nerds.

I also don't think we will get new announcements from studios that have games still releasing this year, aka Naughty Dog and Quantic Dream.

Yes, and here we are 8 years later and cable companies still can not broadcast in 1080p, only 720.

I am sure there will be a work upconvert work around for 4k, but we are far away from a true 4k support in broadcast or streaming when the industry still can not do a true 1080p besides disk support.

It might just be me... But I don't see the avg user getting behind 4k due to that.

Fibre networks have been ramping up in Canada, I'm assuming it is seeing similar growth in the US. I think this will allow for speeds to ramp up rather quickly in the next 5-10 years. Netflix has already proved some level of 1080p is possible. I think 4k-interlaced would only require roughly twice the bandwidth of 1080p.

2. They'll announce about 4 first part games for launch window (Killzone, Uncharted, LBP -- I can't guess the 4th). Trailers with real-time footage will only be shown on 2 actual games.
3. 3rd party support discussed - some talk of franchises like Madden, Battlefield, Assassins Creed etc but no real specifics and no footage.
4. Any live demonstrations will be tech demos. These will show some of the features of the new controller
5. Launch window discussed - no specific date, no price

I think they'll open talk of how well the playstation brand has done over the years. Will move onto with the Vita price cuts, and then (perhaps) lead that into PS4 with talk of cross functionality.
