Well, rdodolak, upconverts were brought up. Upconverts released by Shout Factory are relavent to the discussion. So I made mention of it.

But in the end, it's just a movie on a disc. Not worth getting in a huff over. In my advanced age I have learned i can live without watching a movie, even if it is a favorite. I'll just read a book instead.

More importantly, Mathilda May's rack is the best ever created. God rules.

Any chance on seeing some screen caps?

I pre-ordered from Amazon Canada, but does anyone know if the US version will have a slipcase and the Canadian won't? I normally don't care much about these things, but this is a favorite movie and as it's not to early to cancel my order, thought I would rather have a nicer looking package for the same price. I sometimes secretly look down on people who obsess over packaging, but perhaps I am becoming the thing I mock.

No, I didn't have any additional background information at all. I can read though. The topic of upconverts came up, so it seemed relevant considering there has been some upconverts released lately by the company.

If already you knew that the company had released some upconverts, that qualifies as "additional background information". If you hadn't known this, you might have had as much trouble following the discussion as some of the rest of us, it's not just a matter of being able to "read".

Oh, God!

I knew only because it was mentioned here - in this thread. Because I can read. I was not aware of the upconversions until it was mentioned here. I then read more about it in the Phantasm II thread. Geez.
