Is this on the SR212S?

I've got the SR4KP1 and I haven't noticed any difference at all. Pardon me if I sound like I don't know what I'm talking about (which may be true ... trying to help if I can and if not, educate myself in the process,) do you have your player hooked up to an A/V receiver? I'd have to look behind my set to be sure, but one HDMI out from the receiver should run into the TV and the TV settings for 'INPUT 1' (or however it is labeled on your set) should dictate the picture settings.

I have never had any issue with my player processing the PQ and I've had 3 different blu-ray players set up at different times. There is one thing that usually always needs to be set on the blu-ray player and that is regarding the audio output - the player typically wants to send the audio signal in stereo only as opposed to allowing it for a 5.1 set-up.

What I just said might not help at all, but I think the problem is that the player is processing the picture signal. I don't think you need to address the problem with the sharpness setting. I think you need to figure out how to stop the player from processing any picture signal at all.

Silly question (maybe), but does anyone know the trick to getting the "zoom" button to work? I tried it with two different BD's (one RA and one RB). Aimed the remote at the IR...hit the zoom button repeatedly...and...nothing.

Can the SR4KP1 be update and still retain the region free capabilities?

I know some manufacturers remove that option with updates.

There is no updates yet, the region feature can be removed if the program designer decides to remove the feature on a update.
