If you open any of the listings up to their product page, you'll see that what is available is only through third party vendors who do not ship to the US. Just Volume 9 is still available directly from Amazon JP, the rest have been OOS there since shortly after they each came out, or sooner.

Oohhhh. Weird. If you do a general search all the volumes have the Prime logo underneath it. But when you click on each individual volume's link it only shows 3rd party sellers and the Prime logo is gone.

Okay. So it's not like there are multiple versions of each volume released, like a 2nd 3rd 4th printing, that's somehow different from the 1st release. Gotcha =)

No, these are all just newly released; one First Press volume per month starting in April 2017, running through December. There hasn't been time yet for any kind of multiple printings.

Looks like people are finally getting their boxes. I've been randomly checking Google images for it, and whatever this website is has a few pictures of it:

Huh, it's so weird that the box art looks like it's a WIP. Not to sure what HMV/Trigger were thinking. I mean it's still coolish, but I don't know if I'd be willing to spend money for it.

I really like Gamer's BOX art personally.

If you remember the Evangelion "Platinum Edition" DVD singles, the layouts on the LWA box are reminiscent of both the full-length rough animation "animatics", not to mention the next-episode preview for Episode 23.

Given the background that director Yoh Yoshinari had with Gainax (Evangelion, FLCL, Gurren Lagann) before moving over to Trigger, it's not all that surprising.
Forget The Evil Dead; what George Lucas has done to Star Wars since 1997 is truly "The Ultimate Experience in Grueling Terror".

Is this being made for the blurays as well? Or is it for something else entirely?

Same deal as the HMV box, just different artwork exclusive to a different store. There's four of these all up. Toranoana and Sofmap have the other two.

I love these kind of boxes they put out for holding the entire series in, but the fact they're always hard to get exclusives really puts me off.

yeah, it seems they go out of their way to keep us importers from getting the boxes very easily, you have to jump through hoops and use a forwarding service and all. I don't bother with them. And why does Amazon JP never offer series boxes? Their exclusives are always something stupid like a wall hanging...

not sure if we're talking about the same thing - I'm referring to about exclusive boxes for Japanese singles releases, and not just a box set from the manufacturer. Gate isn't even English friendly, so I don't care about a box for those series... I actually wish more boxes for singles came right from the manufacturer with one of the volumes, like they did for Akito the Exiled, rather than being retailer exclusives.

^^^

Retailer Exclusives are why I don't even bother lol. But can't knock Japan for that because we do the same thing in the US.

Amazon JP definitely does offer series boxes, I never buy Amazon exclusives because I lose out on the 20+% off but there are a couple that I've been sad to miss out on. The box to hold all three of the Negima BD boxes for example.

The only way I can get this series cheap(er) is if I buy all nine volumes as a bundle. That's why I'd rather get a box that I didn't have to buy the final volume with so I can save the $70.

So, did any store create a box that was being sold alone, or did they all come with volume 9 in it?

I'm just hoping someone in the US releases the series.

The boxes aren't attached to volume 9, and only came out at the same time. I'm pretty sure you can buy any volume and get the box as a bonus, but there's no way of buying the box by itself.

I think most all of the shops require that you purchase all 9 volumes from them to be eligible to get their exclusive box.

Wasn't someone here working on a Ranma 1/2 custom box? Maybe he could make a cool LWA box for us =)
