A Monster in Paris 3D Blu-ray Region A Review is up

A Monster in Paris 3D Blu-ray
Released on 4/16/2013.
my hunch is the film may not get much of an audience on this side of the pond in its home video version, despite having a largely winning animation style and a relatively unusual plot.
Some will find it entertaining, others will not. Personally thought it was a fresh European style of 3D animation others here have already posted their dislike.

Suggest a trial from a rental.

Viewed the U.S. Region A version last night.
From my memory the 3D depth seems improved compared to the Hong Kong Region A disc. This possibly could also be from changes produced from the new PowerDVD 13 software now installed on my PC.
The Blu-ray 3D + Blu-ray disc is only a single layer disc, as compared to the dual layer Hong Kong version. If the 2D version uses one of the 3D view points this will not be a problem, but if it is a separate added 2D encode, more compression would be needed to fit on the 25GB layer. The good news is that I do not see any degradation in the picture! Needed verification should come from someone with this being projected in 3D on a large theater screen which would substantiate the quality.

We were just mentioning, over on the Scream Factory thread, about when Shout would start getting bi-curious about Blu 3D releases--like Criterion with Pina--and maybe get the idea for Scream to start releasing some vintage 80's-B Silver Age gold. (A Scream Factory version of Starchaser: Legend of Orin? Ohh, if it could only happen...)
If they have to start with an arthouse title, so be it, but let's hope it doesn't end there, just because it's a crappy weird/foreign kiddy-CGI without turtles in it.
Oooo, I want that.

I thought my tv was ghosting a little when I watchd it. (mostly at the edge of the screen. most of the screen looked fine)

However, when I sat so I was looking at the screen at eye level (same distance from the tv) instead of slightly up or down, there wasn't any ghosting on it on the same movie even in the same spot on the movie.

Kentwood, LA.

I loved this movie. I bought the USA release and thought the 3D was very good. I loved the story, the characters and the music. Very entertaining IMO. I also liked the soft focus pastel look of the film.
