It fits even less today and wasn't in keeping with the style of most of the music used in the rest of the series ( I'm ignoring the dire Ring Around the Moon written by Vic Elms IIRC- thank god he didn't have more input)
Yeah, I'll second that. I saw Space Brain for the first time in a while recently and that was pretty jarring. And I had the exact same reaction - too strongly associated with Quatermass in my brain. I often have Quatermass on the Brain, though :-)

By chance I also saw an original Cosmos episode recently that used that music. That triggered my memory of how strong I thought it was back in 1980 when I was...younger :-) Its hard to forget, unlike most incidental/background music.

Thanks for the heads up about a 3 disc Season 1 music release - I had no idea!

I thought the video of the US season 1 looked pretty good, but I watched the Bringers of Wonder disc last night and the video quality was exceptional. I was wondering if the video of the UK season 1 looked similar; I would double-dip if it was.

US and UK Season 1 sets are the same quality.

You mean the US season 1 Bluray ? If so - they are from the same source as the UK discs.

I have the BOW disc and it looks as good as Year One Blurays

Default Network 40% off sale

Network has most of their catalog on sale at 40% off, running now thru 2 March. Both Series 1 and Bringers of Wonder are included

Man, Network shipping is really strange.

Space 1999 Season One (region free) 12 + 7.85 shipping ($30USD) isn't outrageous considering US prices now

Add Prisoner S1 (region B locked) 15 + 6.70shipping ($33 USD) again not particularly bad

Added both to same package expecting to see a bump, but shocked to see shipping for the 2 combined was 40. There seems to a price point which triggers this bump to a flat 40, but I think it's based on pre-sale price points. I could add Prisoner + 4 single disc items (39 before it jumps), but Prisoner+1999 for 27 triggers this.

Unlike most UK retailers I'm used to it seems VAT is added separately at the Cart rather than being reflected in the price (then subtracted out for International shipment)

Networks shipping charges are not very well thought out.
Just make 2 completely separate orders and you'll avoid the 40 charge

That was easy to figure (I actually have both US sets anyway), I was just looking for the pattern of why.
