Currently having issues with my 2nd Seiki 212S. I have a 3rd ready to be used in a box as well. 1st one fried itself a while back. This one is giving me either a no disc or unknown disc error. Has been spotty for a few days, but has still played movies for region A or B. I suppose I should have left it for solely B and use it only for those discs. I did get the warranty plan, so hopefully the local store still has stock so I can exchange yet again. Oh the joys of cheap electronics.

I only use this player for my Region B discs. People are playing with fire making it their everyday player.

I'm the same way. Trying to make this little guy last as long as possible.

Got the disc working. Took several tries with it quitting while video was playing or just saying no disc etc. Tried again and again & it has seemed to have corrected itself for this disc (Arrow's release of Blow Out). No more switching to A or DVD use for this player going forward.

EDIT: Today had difficulty with another region B disc. However, after repeating the same process I did last night, it played without issue. Seems the player needs to warm up or something perhaps...

Out of production, you might be able to find a used one on EBAY.

XS Cargo may have them still, but watch out - they claim they are "refurbished" and they are anything but. Make sure you test it out and ensure it comes with the remote - I had to make three trips there to finally get a working unit with a remote.

did you keep #1? might be worth considering going forward, for the parts. sounds like #2 has a bad laser that could have been repaired with #1's laser swapped in. otherwise, if it was the power board the fried, you could move that board from the bad laser unit. keep those cheap parts, and maybe buy one more if your store has stock!! how much are they asking?? cant find them anywhere near me!

No longer have #1... 2 & 3 I now have with me in Calgary. Before I left Winnipeg, the XS Cargo where I picked them up at has closed down.
