News on TR3N makes me happy...but I would be ecstatic to see more Tron: Uprising.

Indeed. I can't wait!! Oblivion is awesome and Tron is a visual masterpiece as well. Plus both movies have fantastic scores.

Tron Legacy director Joseph Kosinski has said that a sequel to the 2010 film is still in the works.

The filmmaker revealed that the storyline for the follow-up will center on Olivia Wilde and Garrett Hedlund's characters, who escaped the Grid at the end of Tron Legacy.

"We're working on the story right now. Once we get a script we're all really happy with, we'll take it to the powers that be and see if we can go back to the Grid," Kosinski told Assignment X.

"I think we will pick [up] with where Tron Legacy left off with Quorra in the real world and what does that mean and the possibilities it opens up for the next chapter. It's the relationship between the two of them that's the next step."

Kosinski added that Cillian Murphy's character Edward Dillinger Jr, who made a brief appearance in Legacy, will also figure in the sequel.

"Dillinger [played by David Warner] was a really important part of the first Tron and it felt like an easy way to continue that storyline and thread to have his son (Murphy) in Tron Legacy.

"That way you have people ask those questions of what the Dillinger legacy is in the world of Tron. We didn't want to ignore it completely, and it leaves a really nice springboard for some intertwining development for the next film."

I can't believe it's been four years already. Tron Legacy felt as though it came out yesterday. I hope they get the ball rolling faster.

All depends on what they want to do. On the grid, you could get away with things because it was all in a computer but how is that going to translate in the real world. Last thing I want is for it to turn into some weird fantasy piece so they can use lightcycles and such in the real world. Curious to see where they go with it.

My guess is that you just described how it will be.

I am hoping not. I was actually a little disappointed that they didn't take advantage more of the fantasy aspect in Tron Legacy since they were on the grid for most of it. I remember them blowing up the night club and thinking "That's how you are going to do it - a pretty regular looking explosion?" They did some good stuff in it and some that I didn't like but since it was all in a computer, you could accept it but if they are coming into the real world, there has to be some logic to it.

I hope they'll get Daft Punk back on board too

If not (the duo is sometimes a tad bit "odd" in their decisions and job picks), maybe M83? I think they did a phenomenal job for Oblivion.

+1 They need to get going on this before it turns into six years. I've been waiting for this ever since the first one came out.

It sounds like the project is a lot further off then he leads on. If Disney is still not on board (he says as much) I'm not holding my breath.

Story aside, Legacy was beautiful in Imax. I would pay to see what is essentially a concert movie if Daft Punk returns.
