I asked them on Facebook if they had any plans on releasing Gaslight on Blu-ray, and they said:

A great film, and also in need of a new 1080p master, as the last master was 1080i, which cannot be used for Blu-ray. We hope to be able to remaster the film and make it available on Blu-ray at some point in the future. Thanks.

I hope they'll release both versions of GASLIGHT to Blu, like they did with the DVD. Each is outstanding in its own way.

I presume they're taking about the 1944 version of Gaslight, as Warner licensed the 1940 version to the BFI in the UK and they released a terrific Blu-Ray (in 1080p)

That has to be the biggest oversight I've ever had. I must of been high. There is Magic Town too. I have a poster of it hanging in my living room and I see it everyday.

Yeah I was talking about the 1944 MGM film. I haven't seen the 1940 British film, but I'd like to. I believe that one's in the public domain since it's streaming for free on Amazon and has a few cheap DVD editions for sale.

Is the British Blu-ray Region Free?

Region B locked according to the back of my case. Haven't tested it though.

The Sunshine Boys (1975) coming soon, per George Feltenstein on the Frank DeCaro show.

I have been quite satisfied with the quality of the Archive. Warner Bros usually doesn't release sub-par transfers. The reviews of the new Frank Sinatra non Archive set have been a different story.

Most of what I've read say the set isn't up to the wonderful work Warner has applied to prior blu-ray titles.

This may explain why many of their films have yet to be released on blu-ray.

I have noticed if a DCP has been made of a film Warner usually releases it on Blu-ray. There are a few titles - and I do mean a few, with a DCP available for theater screening, so I would expect to see these titles sometime this year.

Its probably better to wait for the real thing than to get discs which aren't up to the highest standards. This probably also explains the choice of titles selected - some may seem odd, but they are in the best shape.

I an NOT an expert on these things, but this is an interesting site in the UK that, it appears, shows WB films with available DCP's, although I'm sure it's not all inclusive. But some interesting titles from my view, including THEM!

An eclectic mix. I'd be very interested in Fingers, Scarecrow, and especially Gun Crazy. Another source for clues as to what might be available in DCP is Warner Archive's streaming channel. Many of their titles are already in HD.

Oh, and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? Missed that one.
Current pre-orders:
06/02/2015: The Train Robbers
06/06/2015: The Golden Year Collection
O7/28/2015: Monte Walsh, Prime Cut

I hope they're not making us wait for the 50th anniversary next year to release that one.

I just saw this nice little monster gem yesterday, albeit on DVD.
Hands off the compression button, Music industry!
Hands off the DNR button, Blu-Ray producers!
Film is supposed to have grain!
