There were alot of rerelease stuff at beginning of 2013, but not many new titles since then.

It is almost halfway into the 6 year deal and while Warner is starting to really move on their catalog titles, its seems not much out of Paramount has happened in regards to newly released titles except for a handful of titles like:

Vanilla Sky
Congo
Shaft
Snake Eyes
Talented Mr. Ripley
Pet Cemetary
Jennifer Eight
Flashdance
Sliver
Tombraider: Cradle of Life
Internal Affairs
The Presidio
Zoolander
Nutty Professor
Terms of Endearment
Great Gatsby
Runaway Bride
An Officer and a Gentleman
Marathon Man
Serpico
Shane
Odd Couple

Am I missing any significant ones in list above?

What about these titles that seemed mainstream or popular on DVD. Why have they not seen the light of day since this announcement.

Examples:

Kiss The Girls
Double Jeopardy
Along Came A Spider
Rules of Engagement
The Dead Zone
The Rainmaker

Also it makes no sense why titles already released or planned in other regions are not announced:
The Core
Team America
Kiss the Girls
Along Came A Spider
Naked Gun series
American Gigolo
Witness

There are also many big classic titles in the list: King Kong, Elephant Man, Longest Yard, etc.

Who is picking these titles and why would someone pick "Congo" over those other titles above. This just makes no sense.
Sales statistics for BD show that action titles typically sell better but if you look at the prior releases most are dramas or comedy.
Some of the prior releases are good titles to have been released, but the only announced titles in 2014 is Vanilla Sky and just recently Congo.

I hope it certainly does not mean sales are not good and they are backing off.

Someone in post above mentions Paramount picks the titles for Warner. Is that confirmed? Source?

My wishlist along with the others mentioned above:

Breakdown
Simple Plan
The Gift
Suspect Zero
What Lies Beneath
What Women Want
Witness
Regarding Henry
Nick of Time
Some Kind of Wonderful
Pretty in Pink
Summer Rental
The Wood
House of Sand and Fog
Evolution
Ghost and the Darkness
Eddie Murphy Raw
The Saint
The Program
The Keep
Sony KDS60A3000 SXRD 60" RP HDTV
Klipsch KLF-20, KLF-C7, RS-7
SVS 20-39PC subwoofer
Pioneer VSX-92TXH Elite, Onkyo TX-DS696 Receiver
Panasonic DMP-BD80 Blu-ray Player
OTA HD: Radio Shack VU-90XR Roof (All HD Chicago, including channel 2.1)
Omni1000LCD Battery/Surge

Who cares really? WB can't even get out there own catalog titles...I mean where is Hooper (just one example of many) grossed 78 million dollars at the box office (huge haul for 1978) and they can't get a decent release of this film out? So sick of seeing all these re-releases of the same films.
BD Wantlist: 1. Le Samouraļ 2. Ikiru 3. Nights of Cabiria 4. La Strada 5. The Burbs 6. Murder By Death 7. Hooper 8. The Abyss 9. True Lies 10. The Little Princess 11. Love Affair (1994) 12. Into the Night 13. The Remains of the Day 14. The Gumball Rally 15. The Magnificent Ambersons 16. Urban Cowboy 17. The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance 18. Blame it on Rio 19. Under the Rainbow 20. The Pirate Movie

Star Wars Nitpickers Guide (the truth shall set you free)

"Sales statistics for BD show that action titles typically sell better"

There you go. You answered your own question. They are only concerned about the sale figures, not the quality of a films they are putting out.

What if Congo is a better seller than The Elephant Man? That would not be unimaginable. Not in my book, anyway.

Overall, I think they are handling Paramount's catalogue nicely. Yeah, it could be better, of course, but there is still a plenty of time to release titles we all seek.

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment is releasing Vanilla Sky on blu-ray on Oct 14, 2014....
Quote:
The Blu-ray edition of Vanilla Sky arrives as part of Warner Bros. 600+ title distribution deal with Paramount. The studio has yet to detail tech specs or special features.
Still hopeful that Breakdown (1997) will also be released on blu-ray soon, before the Paramount/Warner Brothers deal expires!

But all of those should be available on Blu-ray, particularly The Elephant Man.

Edit: Also, I want WB to release all of the Friday the 13th films individually, but that might actually happen with the new movie coming out next year. Hopeful.

Virtuosity has also been released in most foreign markets. Stupid movie, but really great early Russell Crowe performance.

Wow.Warner really can't keep fingers away from other studios libraries

I was actually wondering about this! I was curious because Warner's logo appeared on the back of my copy of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Thanks!

It still baffles my mind that 1492 is not on DVD or Blu-Ray in the states.
The reason always given is that it flopped in America, but plenty of other flops are released time and time again. It really has to be a rights issue, Paramount was only the distributor not the actual studio backers.

Ridley Scott is a well known director, Slap a sticker on the front that says "From the Director of Gladiator" and it will sell just as good if not better than other Paramount catalog titles.

I would love to see The Bad News Bears (Original), Eddie Murphy Raw, and Juice. Is this too much to ask for Warner/Paramount?

Benjamin Button was actually a co-production, so the Warner logo has always been on the back of the BD, along with the Paramount logo. I have a BD I bought the week it came out, and it's there.
