I have to fully rebuild the main board too. same microprocessor disturbances as the old version screen controller. Will have to build it in a full 1U case.

There's a positive to this a full 1U case has much more space inside, and I have 10x 5Amp (DPDT) power relays I got for dirt cheap, I could make a serious auto speaker configurator:

Reverting from biamping to biwiring fronts:
5.1 with 2 side surrounds
5.1 with 2 rear surrounds (though they're a little too close to each other)
7.1 with 4 surrounds
5.1 with 2+2 series-connected surrounds

Keeping biamped fronts:
5.1 with 2 side surrounds
5.1 with 2 rear surrounds
5.1 with 2+2 series-connected surrounds
All speakers independently phase-reversible

System configuration: 7.1/5.1/5(7).1 assignable

It seems you have a great time tweaking your system

Sometimes. I prefer immersing in multichannel music. ;p

Using all 10 relays I was able to design the following configurator:

7.1 S+SB (integrated optional resistive attenuators for both)
5.1 S+SB in series
5.1 S only (SB off)

I could ditch the SB on/off relay and thus use 8 relays, this way I can use only one ULN2803A IC which can handle 8 lines and I could ditch the SB resistive attenuator since I can set that in AVR menu. I cannot do that for S since when series connected with SB AVR level must be 0.0 while in standalone must be -6, so I have to use a relay which automatically engages an external attenuator based on mode.

The new V2.0 main board is almost done and already under testing, at least the speaker switcher since some ICs and the 8 low-power relays for trigger outs will drop here tomorrow.

Available speaker configurations:
7.1
5.1
5.1 with S+SB series connected

Automatic resistive attenuator enabled for surround speakers in 7.1 and 5.1 modes, optional and always on for surround back. Will have to reconnect S and SB separated, make a level measurement and calculate a proper attenuation value, which from former measurements should be around 5-6dB. Industrial 50W power resistors

Slight modifications under the table: angled Sunfire power plug and better routed firewall DC cable.
.

The new table switch is now operational. One of the SFP fiber modules is already installed and ready to link optically to the Hi-Fi rack.
