Wasn't there supposed to be a remaster of The Fugitive due this year? It is the film's 20th anniversary after all, and I know Warner had stated last year they were working on a remaster.

The French BD of Michael Clayton is fantastic. To be honest, the US disc could just import that transfer and it would get at least a 4.5/5 rating in the video department.

I assume that the Goodfellas in the gangster collection will still feature the antique HD-DVD transfer from 2006 all the way in 2013, complete with lossy audio and everything.

I can't BELIEVE that they didn't upgrade Goodfellas. They re-released it so many times and it's still the same exact disc. I'm starting to lose hope that it will ever get a normal release.

I know what you mean, it really is quite ridiculous.

There are literally like 10 different variations of Goodfellas on blu ray over the years.. In U.S. alone. Makes me wonder how they would market a new release if they should ever make a proper release to stand out from all these other releases. Which is why I'm very pessimistic about a new transfer.

It's just too bad that it's a 100% Warner title for the entire world. Otherwise maybe we could get just a slightly better release in some country, like with Heat in Japan.

Goodfellas needs a 50GB Disc release with a DTS HD 5.1 audio track. If they can't release it with a new transfer etc, then they are wasting our time. That contempory set is gonna be overpriced and honestly not needed. The Classic one is worth it for sure.
Stop the Replacing of original Studio Opening / Closing logos! These are becoming endangered and should be kept intact. They are part of film history.

Indeed the Classic set will be excellent, shame they can't do a seperate James Cagney set though.

Oh man, that contempory set is a complete joke. Like anyone who likes those movies doesn't have at least two of them if not all of them on blu already. Just an attempt to get people to double dip on titles.

The classic set is great however!

The first quater of Warner's 90th is coming to a close and not only have we not seen any great releases yet but not even hints of anything great to come later in the year. Except for the initial release announcements stated back in the beginning of the year but Warner has to do better that just those titles.

I know the beginning of the year is typically slow but this year seems to be pretty awful. In fact, everything seems to have been announced through the first half of 2013 and it's just...blech across the board, catalogue-wise.
