Ive tried everything I could think of, including the reset via "red" button and a full on/off cycle of the DVR multiple times. Last edited by formula72; 12-09-2012 at 06:22 PM. |

So without trying to ramble on here, I've been in the market for a receiver for the last month or so. I feel like I did a good bit of research on what I wanted and ultimately decided I wanted something like a Denon AVR1713 or in the budget of around $400 to $500ish. That being said I walked into a local BB to finalize the purchase and got into a conversation with a guy there. Next thing I know I became the owner to a Pioneer VSX-42. Well I came home to find out that I have been unable to find ANYTHING regarding this receiver. I don't really know much about them to begin with and I feel like I may have made the wrong choice. Hoping that someone here could point in the direction for some good threads regarding this unit. Maybe even someone that could assure me that I didn't make the mistake of buying this one instead of something else at a similar price point? Maybe just even advise me to return? Any help or information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Pioneer makes excellent A/V receivers. You well just need to read the manual to make sure it has all the features your looking for. If it does not then you could return it and get a higher-end Pioneer like the SC-68 or other brands like the Denon.

I love my vsx-30 and have had zero complaints. I love my Advanced MCACC and have logged a little over 60 hours experimenting with this awesome room correction program. My complete purpose for purchasing this receiver was the quality and amazing possibilities of all of the Advanced MCACC features and functions. Its just awesome!

i bought a roku box. What's the best way to hook this up? My older model Pany plasma only has 2 hdmi so I bought 1-3 from amazon. It appears that the output goes to the TV and then input-1 fios box 2-oppo 3-roku in terms of priority. Will my 32 recognize the roku? I have a harmony remote so I guess I should add another task and call it roku? What output audio setting for the 32? Thanks for assistance

Anyone figured out how to play videos on the TV from their iPod? I can play songs no problem, but the Videos option on the main menu is greyed out.
That said, I was actually blown away at how good the songs on my iPod sounded when hooked up.
