Love The Fountain! Such a great, great film. Agree with whoever said Hugh deserved a best actor nomination, and that it has one of the best trailers ever. It really does work on so many levels. I don't know about a Criterion, but feel that we wouldn't have gotten screwed over the first time if it hadn't been released by such a major distributor as the main Warner Bros. imprint. They thought it was I Am Legend or 300 and didn't know how to market it. If Fox Searchlight or Paramount Vantage had released it I strongly believe we would've gotten the commentary and alternate cut the first time instead of hoping for a re-release, which is not even certain. But still a beautiful film.

I don't know if it's available online, but it does come as an insert with the hardcover picture book (not the graphic novel by Aronofsky and Kent Williams).

Wow, that's pretty pricey.
Old powers waken. Shadows stir. An age of wonder and terror will soon be upon us, an age of gods and heroes.

Anyone have both the US and the UK release? I'm inquiring since the US release seems statistically so inferior and I can't seem to find any visual comparison or discussion between the two that states anything other than just the audio being superior with DTS HD.

And region-free is not an issue.

Plus, who knows if we'll ever really see a Criterion release...

Does anyone still have the Aronofsky audio commentary he posted online? I had it once but I must've deleted it by accident and the original link he put up to download it no longer works.

Hiya,
I've had the US, UK and German versions. I did get rid of the US version initially due to the sound but the pic quality on the UK and German editions is noticeably better.
I couldn't see any difference between the UK and German editions so ultimately sold the UK release as I prefer the German artwork.
If you've never seen the better versions you would probably be quite happy with the US release, much as I was. It's still stunning visually, just doesn't 'pop' quite as much as the others. HTH

After 8 days of waiting ("dispatching soon") the seller (UKPaperbackshop)
cancelled my order. This is very disappointing.

I am sorry but it would appear that we were unable to supply this title. As we do not have a facility to backorder, your order was cancelled and the transaction voided.
